At Wider Circle, we connect neighbors for better health. Wider Circle's groundbreaking Connect for Life®
program brings neighbors together in-person and online for health, wellness, and social activities that
improve mental and physical health. We create webs of community circles by employing local and
culturally competent engagement specialists, whose hand-on-hand approach to forming trusted circles is

Responsibilities:
● Lead service design processes from conception to implementation, ensuring alignment with
organizational goals, member needs, and partner expectations.
● Conduct research to gain insights into the experiences of our members and the challenges of our
program in serving them.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams including program operations, technology, product,
content, and marketing.
● Design user journeys, service blueprints, and other relevant artifacts that help us visualize the
front- and back-stage moments within our programs and processes.
● Facilitate engaging and impactful workshops and design sprints with members and stakeholders.
● Develop and maintain, as necessary, our core program design that can establish consistent
approaches where possible and promote individuality of service delivery where able.
● At all times, advocate for the importance of the member’s perspective in design and business
decisions including their experience and motivations.
● Continue to develop professionally, especially within the field of community organizing,
community health, and social factors affecting decision making.
● Develop a deep understanding of members in our communities including their needs, systemic
disadvantages, and available resources.

● Creates natural support systems in community networks between our members and our
community engagement specialists as well as their peers.
● Produces moments of joy. Our members will remember how our program makes them feel to
be a part of it.
● Activates members through varied methods to produce consistent engagement.
● Cultivates and sows a strong sense of trust among peers and our team members.
● Reinforces that peer and social support opportunities are provided with dignity so that we may
help those who need support now and provide opportunities for those same individuals to help
others in their time.
● Facilitates the organic identification of natural community champions and empower them to
create self-sustaining networks.
● Establishes connections between individuals within our programs and their own communities.
● Fosters the development of resilient networks that help our members achieve success and reach
their potential, no matter their goals.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s or higher degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
Substantive experience in the field can overcome this requirement.
● Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in designing member experiences in both the digital and
built world.
● Experience working in healthcare or social programs, especially those provided in the
community or as a part of government sponsored programs (Medicaid for instance).
● Demonstrated ability (through portfolio/case studies) to synthesize user experience into
designed journeys.
● Organized approach to design inclusive of proficiency with design tools (your preference).
● Natural storytelling ability to depict complex concepts and future states to diverse audiences.
● Empathetic approach to design and a genuine desire to make a positive community impact.
