Ware looking for a Manager of Scientific Training who will work within the US Medical Affairs team at Ascendis Pharma. This crucial role will be supporting scientific training across various teams in the US Business Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple endocrine disease states, products, and cross-functional teams. There will be a primary focus on supporting the anticipated launch of an investigational treatment for hypoparathyroidism currently under review by the FDA. The position is remote and reports to the Director, US Field Medical Training.
Key Responsibilities
- Alongside with Director, US Field Medical Training, develop the learning strategy and curriculum for multiple disease states, supported by the Global Medical Affairs Training Team. The strategy will incorporate adult learning principles/needs that will support the team’s knowledge/skills needed to execute corporate objectives.
- Support field scientific needs with internal onboarding, ongoing learning needs and training priorities as needed.
- Become an expert administrator utilizing the Cornerstone Learning Management System.
- Successfully create, prepare, and deliver medical affairs training and training field assets to targeted participants, as assigned by the Director. Creation will include working closing with Medical Affairs team members to solicit feedback prior to finalizing training materials. Delivery of training materials/assets will be via virtual/live interactive sessions that encourages excitement for learning.
- Finalize training material submission to medical/legal review committee through Veeva Medical Platform and continually manage approval process.
- Assist with maintenance of training repository platform that support the needs of field medical affairs team members.
- Monitors the success of learning and development plans with follow-up surveys.
- Offers solutions for organizational training opportunities to enhance learning outcomes and provide a best-in-class methodology to support medical affairs training needs.
- Ensure understanding of and maintains compliance with department and corporate policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Advanced Degree (PharmD, DNP, MD, PhD) or a 4-year bachelor’s degree in a Health Science field is required (e.g., RN, PA, NP, RPh) and minimum of 5 years of experience within a field based medical affairs role (MSL) or minimum of 5 years of scientific teaching experience.
- Endocrinology or rare disease experience preferred.
- Project management experience, including end-to-end processes within a team setting, in a dynamic, face paced environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects at one time to support competing business needs while providing attention to detail and high-quality work.
- Strong collaboration and organizational skills needed.
- Experience in delivering complex concepts to varying audiences.
- Collaborates with a wide range of people to achieve results and have a can-do attitude.
- Ability to work autonomously to organize and prioritize one’s own work schedule.
- Ability to create training materials such as reports and presentations and to present/speak to both internal and external customers.
- Estimated travel up to ~50%.
