About the Role

Our client, a well-established company specialising in academic books for children is seeking a full-time freelance graphic designer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing a new line of children's books, including creating visually appealing and educational book covers. This is a long-term project requiring a mid to senior-level expert with a strong background in various design software and a keen understanding of children's book design principles.

Responsibilities:

• Design engaging and age-appropriate book covers for children's academic books
• Create interior layouts for educational content that are both functional and visually appealing
• Develop illustrations and graphics that complement the educational material
• Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure designs align with educational objectives
• Maintain consistency in design across the book series

Requirements

• Mid to senior-level experience in graphic design, specifically in book design
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and layout designing
• Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in children's book design
• Excellent understanding of color theory, typography, and composition
• Ability to create designs that are both educational and visually appealing to children
