About the Role
As the senior manager of the DTC team, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategy and performance across our four consumer-facing branded Shopify sites (Vega, Great Lakes Wellness, Jade Leaf Matcha & FGO). You will be responsible for developing and executing DTC strategies on a channel-wide and individual brand basis; setting and reporting business metrics; managing the DTC budget, forecasting, sales and promotions; and ensuring excellent execution and smooth operations across our DTC sites. As an experienced manager, you will supervise the Sr. Ecommerce Product Manager and the Ecommerce Marketing Manager and strive for iterative, ongoing improvements throughout all aspects of our business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving sales growth, creating an exceptional online shopping experience for our consumers and the ability to lead and inspire a team. This role, which reports to the VP of Marketing, requires a self-starter, strategic thinker with a strong background in e-commerce, marketing, and business management, capable of representing the DTC team cross-functionally throughout the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement DTC strategies and plans to drive sales, meet financial objectives, and ensure proper prioritization of initiatives and resources
- Establish, track and report performance KPIs and strive for iterative, ongoing improvements through our DTC programs
- Ensure smooth functioning of all online activities in relation to traffic acquisition, sales, conversion, a/b testing, retention and reporting alongside existing agencies.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.
- Manage DTC sales and promotions planning. Monitor and analyze performance, adjusting strategies as needed to meet targets or align with updates in business and brand priorities
- Manage the DTC budget as well as planning, forecasting and inventory tracking
- Represent the DTC team in cross-functional and leadership meetings, ensuring alignment with other departments including Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, and Sales Planning
- Ensure excellence in execution across all site operations and DTC activities
- Stay attuned to best practices, competitive activity and evolving technology that can help drive business improvements
- Lead, mentor and develop the DTC team, consisting of Ecommerce Marketing Manager who focuses on customer lifecycle management and Sr. Ecommerce Product Manager who focuses on site performance and CRO. Foster a culture of teamwork, innovation and excellence.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
- 7+ years of experience in DTC management, including 5+ years managing a consumer brand site and a proven track record in a leadership role
- Experience with CPG brands highly preferred
- Strong understanding of Shopify and tech platforms for web store, CRM and analytics support, such as GA4, Klaviyo, Yotpo, etc.
- Experience with DTC sales and promotions planning, merchandising, budgeting and forecasting
- Experience with customer acquisition/retention/loyalty programs and media, customer journeys, and managing customer experience
- Experience managing teams and working with cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical skills and experience with in-depth analysis and large data sets
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent time management skills to deliver strong results across 4 branded websites
