Full Job Description

Coretek is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our team. Coretek Services is a Southeastern Michigan-based IT Consulting Firm dedicated to ensuring our clients’ and our people’s success.

Reporting to the Manager of End User Computing, Consulting Services, in the Smart Workspace division, this position is the opportunity for a highly accomplished EUC/VDI/DaaS Senior Consultant to apply their skills and experience to the Cloud, specifically Microsoft Azure, for one of the leading Azure consulting organizations in the world.  Candidates with demonstrable experience implementing and designing EUC solutions on-prem, hybrid, and in MS Azure will be prioritized.

Success in the role is defined as measurable achievement in the following areas:

  • Successful completion of projects in terms of budget, timelines, achieving objectives, and achieving Customer Delight.
  • Facilitating the onboarding of new customer environments to Managed Services with seamless transition of duties and knowledge to appropriate team members.
  • Recognized by management and fellow team members as the final escalation point for resolving technical issues and using those escalations as opportunities for team member development.
  • Exceptionally qualified candidates are role models for dynamic and collaborative forward thinking and the self-driven ability to adapt to ever-changing technology.  The ideal fit for the role is an inquisitive self-starter, who conceptualizes overall architecture and develops improvements of efficiency leveraging the Dev-Ops Mindset.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in and or/lead projects by performing assigned duties and assigning duties.
  • Develop and present documentation and related artifacts for all work performed.
  • Act as an escalation point for the EUC team.
  • Design customized solutions specific to customer environment/needs. Implement solutions as a  project lead or participate as a team member.
  • Travel to customers as needed. (Expected to be approximately 10% travel)
  • Offer flexible availability for after-hours work.
  • Identify opportunities for additional engagements while engaged with customers.

Requirements

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND & CAPABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

 

The Senior Consultant has at least 5 years of experience in a consulting role both performing technical work and providing technology-related guidance in the IT Services industry.  The well-qualified candidate will be able to easily and anecdotally represent their experience as a hands-on technical leader in design, management, support, documentation development, automation, and implementation of the relevant technologies and products as detailed below.

 

Core Technical/Product Skills: (Must Have All)

  • Citrix VDI (CVAD, DaaS) solutions on-premises, hybrid, and pure cloud.  Experience must be “end to end” including endpoints, applications, M365 integration, printing, user experience, user data, resiliency, multi-geo scaling, traffic and protocol optimization, and security.  Candidates with VDI deployments in Azure, including AVD, will be at an advantage in the selection process.
  • Azure Virtual Desktop
  • FSLogix
  • Corporate VPN, Layer 2 & 3 Networking, and Firewall fundamentals.
  • Azure Active Directory and Multifactor Authentication
  • Azure Infrastructure and Networking
  • Automation and As-Code platforms such as PowerShell, ARM, Ansible, Packer, Chocolatey, and Terraform. 

 

 

Highly Preferred Technical/Product Skills:

Candidates demonstrating experience and skill in the following areas will be at an advantage during the selection process.

  • Citrix NetScaler/ADC – Advanced-level experience in designing, configuring, and implementing the Citrix NetScaler ADC for integration with other Citrix Solutions.
  • Imprivata and similar Identity Management solutions.
  • IGel thin client deployment and centralized management using UMS
  • Nerdio
  • Traditional, Modern, and Cloud Datacenter Technologies, including Nutanix hardware/software and AHV, VMware ESXi and vCenter.

  • Bridge technical knowledge with mature business discussions.
  • Develop implementation plans based on business requirements and IT strategies.
  • Analyze problems, propose creative solutions, and implement them efficiently.
  • Strong project management alignment, including planning, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
  • Beyond solving existing issues, anticipates potential problems and takes preventive measures. Demonstrate proactive monitoring and risk mitigation.

Customer-Centric Approach:

  • Prioritize customer needs and business outcomes.
  • Actively support sales pursuits and client relationships.
  • Understand the client’s business goals and aligning solutions with those objectives. Bridge the gap between technology and business outcomes.
  • Deliver deep technical content while aligning it with business goals.

Effective Communication:

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Effective communication is essential. Explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and executive sponsors within Coretek and the customer teams.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and other team members. Being a team player and fostering positive working relationships

CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates with active certifications directly related to the technologies and products found in this job description will be at an advantage during the selection process.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or relevant experience and accomplishments
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the IT field with hands-on experience relevant to the role.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Azure
  • 3 years of experience in solution design and technical leadership on enterprise engagements.
  • Ability to travel ~10-20%
