YOUR ROLE

The Retail Inventory Planner is responsible for managing and optimizing in-store inventory to drive sales, margin, and store performance. They are responsible for developing an in-season inventory strategy by store and executing weekly replenishment orders. It is a highly collaborative role and partners with a variety of cross functional teams.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-Season Planning

  • Partner to create pre-season, item-level sales and inventory plans that align with historical performance, merchandising strategies and financial targets
  • Build input into company purchase plan to ensure buys provide SKU coverage to execute planned allocations.
  • New store inventory build of initial order and partner with Ops and Retail team on timing
  • Setup seasonal allocation in Toolio

In-Season Inventory Management

  • Execute 3x weekly transfer orders for retail inventory replenishment. Track inventory from warehouse to store receipt.
  • Actively manage style-color inventory by store through MOH analysis and store inventory levels.
  • Identify over/under performers and provide suggestions to improve.
  • Re-Forecast item level plans in season for assigned categories. Ensure alignment and tops-down, monthly forecast and channel level goals.
  • Analyze and coordinate seasonal transition plans including inventory send-backs and timelines for new seasonal style deliveries.
  • Communicate out of stock items and inform on any style delays per their assortment.
  • Partner with Category Planners on inventory requests to adjust assortment in-season

Outlet Store Planning and Management

  • Recommend seasonal style-color level inventory reservations for outlet assortment
  • Setup Seasonal strategies and maintain minimum presentation quantities in Toolio
  • Manage pricing updates according to inventory sell through strategy.
  • Analyze and adjust outlet inventory for replenishment orders to meet store stock level targets.

Reporting

  • Own execution and distribution of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting including business re-caps
  • Review and analyze weekly store performance/inventory levels; recommend changes
  • Performs pre-season, in-season, and post-season analysis to uncover opportunities and risks.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting as requested.

Master Data

  • Responsible for seasonal SKU creation in Netsuite
  • Perform weekly SKU attribute updates for inventory management purposes

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, engineering, economics, operations management, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in planning, finance, or supply chain analysis
  • Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements including sales, gross margin, return rate, months on hand, sell through, turn rate, and how to positively impact these metrics
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations and processes.
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced Excel (pivot tables, charts, logical functions (sumif, vlookup, etc.)
  • Strong critical thinking, data mining and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be dependable, team player, organized, self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • High energy and results oriented. Looking to make improvements and change.
  • Willingness and ability to take on wide array of ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and focus to deliver timely work.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

We provide competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives and benefits. The base salary range for this role is $55,000-$70,000. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of the range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience, skills, and qualifications.
