Years of Experience: 13 – 20 years relevant experience
Education Requirements:A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field then four additional years of related experience is required.
Responsibilities: The Technical Writer is responsible for generating innovative ideas for content while working both independently and collaboratively as part of a technical team supporting both networking and computing disciplines. The position researches products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented and easily understood by a broad audience from engineers to executives.Researches, writes, edits, and proofreads technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures, specifications, special reports, software, hardware documentation and any other customer deliverables and documents. Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and USPS specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style. Assists in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations. Excellent written communication skills are required. Performs graphics design; plans, lays out and illustrates technical or scientific materials in black and white or color. Interfaces with users to determine scope of project and best graphic medium. Executes graphic projects and coordinates and schedules production. Performs production or coordinates production with outside vendors as needed. Operates and sets up computer graphic systems. Familiar with commonly used art media and commercially available graphics packages.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience, in technology or software development preferred.
- 5 or more years of professional experience related to business analysis, system solutioning, creating technical requirements.
- Analyze systems, applications, and the customers business needs to develop requirements.
- Knowledge ATS applications including but not limited to Postal One, USPS Ship, eVS, eInduction, Labeling List, CIN Codes, CFR Contracts Systems, Incentive Systems, Accounting Systems, Informed Delivery, Informed Visibility and all sub systems and micro systems associated to these applications.
- Must have skills in creating specifications documents and guides.
- Experience in customer interaction roles.
- Database Expertise and Skills.
- Experience with Agile Frameworks and creation of Epics, Features and User Stories.
- Understanding of testing / QA skills is recommended.
- Understanding of XML, Jason, Micros Services, API design, and databases is a must have.
- Tasks will include:
- Mailer Calls to include but not limited to PEEC, MTAC, MSDG, WG, US, and Mailer CAT calls.
- Troubleshoot mailers issues as well as help mailers integrate and test their software updates.
- Script review and Customer Acceptance Testing Support.
- Identify risks or technical issues with associated recommendations and proposed contingency.
- Provide weekly status updates to stakeholders and VPs.
- Give a daily status of their progress.
- Write technical design approach documents.
- Provide information for technical specification updates.
- Meeting minutes after all calls.
- Gather technical requirements to write detailed user stories for application developers.
- Scheduling calls with mail. Dat, mail.xml, shipping services file, Informed Delivery, and Informed Visibility.
- Typically performs all functional duties independently.
