Remote Civil Structural Engineering Manager - Substation

Main Duties:

Managerial level civil/structural engineering position responsible for leading a team of engineers and structural designers related to the design of high voltage substations.

The following are duties that the lead will have familiarity with and can assign and/or self-perform or provide QA/QC for the work. Typical assignments include (but are not limited to):

• Performs design of reinforced concrete foundations and metal substation structures
• Prepares engineering deliverables such as calculations, reports, and specifications
• Performs routine research and develops recommendations for Construction methods and/or materials selection
• Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work
• Prepares calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis
• Oversees less experienced engineers and checks their work
• Works with designers and drafters to guide the development of drawings
• Interfaces with the Project Manager(s) and Clients

Requirements

• PE Required
• BSCE or higher with coursework in structural design and analysis and minimum of 10 years of experience
• Computer proficiency required as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with MathCAD, STADD, LPILE (or similar engineering software) is required
• Accuracy and attention to detail is very important as well as having the ability to meet deadlines and complete assignments
• Prior Team Lead or Management experience preferred but not required
• Basic written and verbal communication skills in English are required
• Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment is critical
