This is a fully remote role for candidates who are based outside of the New York Metropolitan area. For those located in the area, we encourage you to consider our hybrid work arrangement (1-2 days a week in our NYC office). Energy storage is the key to unlocking a future where our world is powered by renewable resources. At Convergent Energy and Power, our mission is to make the electrical grid cleaner, more reliable, and less expensive by leveraging state-of-the-art energy storage and distributed generation technologies.
The Project Manager is a member of a team of project managers tasked with beginning to end development of pipeline of energy storage and energy storage + solar projects for Convergent. The Project Manager is directly responsible for all aspects of project execution, including scheduling, budgeting, engineering, and supplier management, permitting and interconnection coordination, as well as all aspects of on-site construction oversight, commissioning, and handover to asset operations. Integral to this is the ability to communicate with all internal and external stakeholders clearly, efficiently, and diplomatically to positively drive project completion.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct project meetings, communicate project status, work closely in small teams, and collaborate effectively to meet project deliverables.
- Prepare requests for proposal, requirement documents, high level design documents, schedules, cost estimates, and other key information related to projects.
- Coordinate Engineering resources to obtain deliverables required to execute projects
- Manage and direct in-field construction and subcontracted resources, including labor, sub-contractors, rental equipment, tools, materials, free issued equipment, logistics, etc.
- Perform construction progress inspections at sites before, during and after active construction for quality control and progress reporting purposes.
- Communicate with all internal and external stakeholders clearly, efficiently, and diplomatically to positively drive project completion
- Cost Control – Create and maintain a project cost report to track performance relative to budget.
- Scheduling – Create and maintain project schedules to ensure understanding of Critical Path items to realize project success.
- Document Control – Create and maintain project documentation related to the delivery of a project including bids, design drawings, construction, and project close-out documentation.
- Perform construction progress inspections at sites before, during and after active construction for quality control and progress reporting purposes. (expectation is around 15-20% site travel, subject to requirements of the project)
- Expedite Engineers and Suppliers to receive deliverables on a schedule conducive to overall projects success
- Participate in the review and development of contract documents including purchase agreements, requirement documents, lists of deliverables, and other similar items
- Support in contract negotiation and review
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in construction project management, especially for complex assets in the electric or energy sector
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant solar or energy storage project management experience (Solar PV, Energy Storage, or Electrical sectors)
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with industry standard project management methods such as Project Management Professional (PMP) best practices, ISO9000 guidelines, and other similar best practices.
- Proficiency with Project Planning and Management Software, Procore, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Project, and other similar software CAD drawing and/or BIM familiarity
- Experience in supporting in contract negotiation and establishing design and build contracts
- Ability to apply a broad range of knowledge in various engineering disciplines (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical
- Commitment to Safety in the workplace (OSHA and other federal, state and local safety practices)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other quantitative educational background
- High Proficiency in contract negotiation and establishing design and building contracts
- Experience in engineering, design in electrical or energy sector

Base Salary Range: $110,000- $120,000; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
