About the Role
The Project Manager, Operations, will support the planning and execution of key product innovation and operational projects critical to the success of our organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, R&I, Operations, and Quality to drive projects that meet our business goals. Your role will involve managing complex timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring seamless communication across all stakeholders.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your project management skills in a fast-paced, consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment. You’ll bring a proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous improvement to help Wellmore stay on track with its innovation pipeline and business transformation goals.
What You’ll Do
Plan the project
- Develop detailed project timelines considering the unique requirements of each project while using a structured project management framework (e.g. stage-gate process)
- Assess project resource needs and assemble appropriate cross-functional teams.
- Create and implement a communication plan that aligns with the needs of the business and project.
Execute the project
- Communicate the project vision clearly and guide the team to deliver objectives.
- Lead the execution of project plans, ensuring accountability for project timelines, budgets, risks, and action plans.
- Gather and distribute relevant project updates to stakeholders to ensure consistent communication.
- Organize and lead project meetings that drive action, address risks, and foster collaborative problem-solving.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
- Maintain thorough documentation and record-keeping throughout the project lifecycle.
Evaluate the project
- Lead the project close-out process by analyzing successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Facilitate operational changes based on the insights gained from each project evaluation.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager
- Direct experience managing complex product innovation projects through the stage gate process within the CPG industry
- Proficiency in using project management software & platforms
- Strong understanding of the Project Management framework and the development of project management documentation (e.g. project charter, communication plans, timelines, RACI chart, risk mitigation, and change management plans, and project closure report)
- Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with multiple projects, tight timelines, and with a range of stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability manage competing priorities
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels, including remote, multi-functional teams, and senior leadership.
- Critical thinker, able to challenge the status quo and think creatively to resolve operational issues.
- Ability to thrive and adapt in a dynamic environment and changing environment
Nice to have
- PMP certification is a plus but not required
- Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience with process improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with supply chain dynamics and complex product development cycles
