IT Concepts, Inc. (ITC) is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to support our VA-ESOM-End Point Support and Operations Monitoring contract. The Portfolio Manager must have experience managing Information Technology related projects. Must be well versed in Project life cycle and Portfolio management methodologies. Must have experience in tracking portfolio budget, costs, schedules and performance progress. Must be able to identify and mitigate program and portfolio risks.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership
- Understand how all the components of a Business Operations portfolio must align for successful execution, and translate into clear roadmaps, schedules, and budgets, and tracking progress across multiple projects.
- Manage IT Asset Management / ITSM scope using proven portfolio management (example: Lean Portfolio Management-Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)) to ensure efficient and scalable delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams, deliver concise and impactful briefings to leadership, and build strong partnerships
- Address and mitigate program risks and issues as they arise
- Responsible for building and managing a team project manager (s)
- Execution
- Take full accountability for the successful execution (cost, schedule, technical) of multiple active ITSM projects. Provide periodic updates on financial actuals and forecasts, and deliver status reports
- Processes and Other duties
- Contribute to best practices for project start-up, execution, and close-out. Leverage lessons learned from past projects, adapting them to agency approach to establish streamlined processes in areas such as project management, risk management, contractual deliveries, and performance monitoring.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the overall success of the portfolio and ESOM Business Operations
- Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
- Collaborate with ESOM Business Operations Contract Lead and ESOM Business Operations Team members to provide a wholistic picture including but not limited to:
- Deliver high-quality IT Asset Management Portfolio that delights the agency and users on-time, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual commitments.
- Regularly communicate the portfolio progress, and performance to leadership
- Closely partner with the ESOM Business Operations Contract Lead providing insights on portfolio / project roadmaps and enable ESOM Business Operations Contract lead to succeed as “the voice to the customer”
Location: This position can be performed in a remote working environment and will be supporting Eastern Time working hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline. (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
- 12 years of relevant experience in Portfolio / Project management
- Familiarity with and leadership experience in SAFe, PMI, Scrum, Hybrid or other similarly rigorous organizational frameworks.
- Serve as a team or task lead, with supervisory responsibility.
- Mentor and guide project managers in planning and executing their responsibilities
- Understanding of formal change management processes
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to create plans, build teams, and execute with strong ownership and minimal oversight.
- A continuous learner who thrives in uncertainty, takes calculated risks, and learns from experiences.
- Proactive, consistently taking initiative and advocating for necessary actions.
- High emotional intelligence, with the ability to effectively communicate and empathize with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and customers.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices
- Active PMP or equivalent Certification
Preferred:
- Experience supporting a federal client.
- Portfolio Management Certification
- Section 508 conformance experience or knowledge
Clearance requirements:
- Able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance.
- US Citizen or Green Card holder.
