Position Summary
SALT Dental Collective provides support services to Pediatric Dental and Orthodontic practices in the Pacific Northwest. We are currently seeking an Orthodontic RCM Supervisor to join our Finance Department. This individual will report directly to the Orthodontic RCM Manager and will oversee the Orthodontic RCM team. In this position you will provide training and guidance to the team as needed, assist the practice with strategies to improve collections, be willing to take on side projects, and monitor accounts receivable. This individual will look for ways to improve systems to help the team perform in all areas of RCM.
- Oversee day-to day performance and operations. Working directly with the manager of Ortho RCM, assign and distribute tasks, help the team meet goals, and provide training/guidance where needed.
- Ensure that all procedures and workflows are being followed by the finance team.
- Prepare updates including issues with 3rd party vendors to report to the Ortho Finance Manager in weekly meeting.
- Assist team members with assigned or extra projects.
- Perform weekly one on one meetings with all members of the Ortho Finance Team to review individual goals, key metrics, and offer support where needed.
- Train new hires.
- Oversee and handle escalated accounts, concerns, and requests.
- Make recommendations for write-offs of aged or disputed balance, review patient/insurance refunds before submitting for approval.
- Manage and support RCM team members to ensure OrthoFi messages are being answered in a timely manner, including assisting with locating missing EOB’s and payments for reconciliation.
- Hands on knowledge and experience of posting functions, credit balance resolution, daily cash deposit/posting reconciliation, claim submission, rejection submission, denials review and appeals, follow-up of aged receivables.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, adhere to all HIPPA guidelines/regulations.
- Additional project-based functions will be required as needed.
- All other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have experience in dental claims processing and accounts receivable.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in an Orthodontic/Dental practice.
- Proficient in multiple practice management software, experience with Ortho-Fi preferred.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Well-organized, detail oriented, diligent work ethic, and proficient computer skills.
- Experience in training/coaching teams.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Able to identify and analyze issues and problems, recommend, and implement solutions to improve workflows.
- Thorough understanding of policies and procedures used in Accounts Receivable and Dental billing.
Physical Demands/Working Environment
- The following physical demands would apply to this job up to 40% of the time: Ability to lift, carry, pull or push up to 25lbs and the ability to type/key more than 50% of the time.
