This is a fully remote role for candidates who are based outside of the New York Metropolitan area. For those located in the area, we encourage you to consider our hybrid work arrangement (1-2 days a week in our NYC office). At Convergent Energy and Power, our mission is to make the electrical grid cleaner, more reliable, and less expensive by leveraging state-of-the-art energy storage and distributed generation technologies.
The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager is a key individual contributor responsible for developing and executing maintenance strategies, optimizing operational performance, and ensuring the reliability of Convergent’s fleet of energy storage and solar assets. This role emphasizes independent problem-solving, technical leadership, and proactive maintenance planning to minimize downtime and improve asset efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Maintenance Planning and Execution (35%)
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure optimal asset performance.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Lead the resolution of technical issues, ensuring timely and effective responses to minimize downtime.
Operational Optimization (25%)
- Analyze performance metrics and operational data to identify trends, optimize maintenance practices, and improve asset reliability.
- Drive initiatives to enhance system efficiency and ensure safety and regulatory standards compliance.
Vendor and Resource Coordination (20%)
- Manage relationships with third-party service providers, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements and quality standards.
- Oversee procurement of parts and materials, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
- Conduct regular reviews with vendors to address operational challenges and opportunities.
Documentation and Reporting (15%)
- Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, work orders, and compliance documentation.
- Develop and update operations manuals, ensuring they reflect current best practices.
- Prepare reports on operational performance and provide actionable insights to leadership.
Continuous Improvement and Collaboration (5%)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance strategies with organizational objectives.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in energy storage or solar asset operations, maintenance planning, or related roles.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving for energy systems.
- Proven ability to work independently and make decisions within an operational framework.
- Experience with maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS) and data analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
- Certification in Maintenance and Reliability (CMRP) or equivalent.
- Experience with SCADA systems, performance monitoring, and data-driven optimization.
- Knowledge of industry-standard communication protocols such as Ethernet and Modbus.
- Strong project management skills, including vendor contract negotiation and cost control.

Base Salary Range: $105,000- $120,000; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
