About the Role

We are seeking a talented music composer to create an original soundtrack for a 2D animated short film titled Calling Gunjune. This 2-minute film follows an inexperienced mech pilot facing a crisis, with an art style inspired by 1980s anime. The film is currently in its animatic stage, with a scratch track placeholder of Dynasties & Dystopia from League of Legends: Arcane. While we aim to keep the beat and timing intact, we're open to discussing various musical genres that best suit the story. The project allows room for creative input, but it must align with the energetic, dramatic tone of the film.

The final soundtrack should be completed by January 2025, ahead of the full film’s April 2025 deadline.

Requirements

• Experience in composing original music for films or animated projects
• Ability to work with an existing animatic and match the film’s tempo and timing
• Open to collaborating on different musical styles (no lyrics required)
• Passion for 80s anime-inspired themes is a plus
• Able to meet a remote working deadline of January 2025 for soundtrack completion
• Availability for project discussions and revisions as needed
• Experience level: Junior to mid-level
• Budget: $200-$400 CAD (fixed rate)
