The Military Personnel Background Payroll Manager at The Willows Communications is responsible for the management and accurate processing of payroll for military personnel. This specialized role ensures compliance with military pay regulations and procedures while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality in payroll operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the payroll processing for military personnel, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and military-specific regulations.
- Manages the collection, entry, and validation of payroll data for military employees, ensuring accurate and timely compensation.
- Coordinates with military HR departments to gather necessary payroll information, including duty assignments, bonuses, and allowances.
- Prepares and submits payroll tax forms and maintains payroll records in accordance with legal and company policies.
- Ensures compliance with military payroll legislation, including amendments and updates to regulations.
- Provides support and guidance to military staff regarding payroll inquiries, benefit eligibility, and pay discrepancies.
- Develops and implements payroll procedures specific to military personnel to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintains knowledge of military employee benefits and assists with the administration of related programs.
- Monitors payroll-related systems, troubleshooting issues and implementing process improvements as necessary.
- Generates reports on payroll metrics, compliance, and trends for management review.
Supports a culture of compliance and excellence while contributing to a positive experience for military personnel within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field; relevant payroll certifications (e.g., CPP) are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, with specific knowledge of military payroll processes.
- In-depth understanding of military pay regulations, tax laws, and related compliance issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing payroll teams effectively.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail.
- Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to resolve payroll inquiries and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with military HR personnel and other departments.
