This position is for a full-time experienced Medical Administrative Assistant who can demonstrate proficiency in medical office administration, including patient scheduling, medical records management, and insurance verification. Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in ophthalmology, is highly preferred.
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as they will interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other staff members on a daily basis. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential, as the Medical Administrative Assistant will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating administrative tasks. The ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is also required.

The Medical Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to our healthcare team, including scheduling patient appointments, managing medical records, and coordinating administrative tasks. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and ensure timely and accurate coordination
- Manage and maintain patients' medical records, both electronic and paper
- Coordinate administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes
- Answer phone calls, direct calls to appropriate individuals, and take messages
- Assist healthcare professionals with administrative tasks as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
Requirements
- Prior experience working as a Medical Administrative Assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in medical office administration, including patient scheduling and medical records management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with electronic medical records systems and other relevant software
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
