Full Job Description
The Manager of Engagement and Partnerships is responsible for developing and expanding the Council’s relationships, collaborations, and partnerships with members, organizations, policymakers, experts, influencers, and others to build our in-person and digital following, elevate our profile, and generate high-value engagement with our products. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated tactical and strategic excellence developing collaborative, mutually beneficial partnerships, and fostering meaningful engagement in the policy field. Candidates must have a deep understanding of the criminal justice field and landscape and be self-starters who are passionate about their work, analytical and innovative in their thinking, and team players motivated to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Grow and manage the Council’s extensive network of members, contacts, peers, and partners by strategically engaging with a wide variety of individuals and organizations working on criminal justice and other related issues to encourage and foster collaboration;
- In partnership with the VP of Membership and External Relations, develop and execute a strategic plan for growth of Council membership, develop and manage systems that efficiently vet candidates for Council membership, and ensure the election of a diverse membership of leaders and innovators from across all sectors of the criminal justice landscape;
- Regularly connect with Council members to build engagement with the Council and between Council members, surface suggestions for Council work and member engagement, gather information and intelligence about the field, identify potential new members, and encourage member nominations;
- Strategically identify Council members, and others as relevant, to participate in and provide input into Council task forces, convenings, webinars, and other projects and activities;
- Facilitate member and external input to strengthen projects and activities and accelerate the uptake of Council ideas into the policy dialogue;
- Advise and coordinate on Council communications to ensure the organization maximizes opportunities with members, key organizations, and others;
- Identify and attend conferences on behalf of the Council; and
- Contribute to and participate in other tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in criminal justice policy leadership. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., policy, communications) preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- The ability to represent the organization with poise and professionalism during regular interaction with stakeholders in the criminal justice field.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
- This is primarily a remote position, but will require periodic domestic travel. Candidates must have the ability to produce independently while effectively collaborating with a team.

The starting salary for this position will range from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
