Full Job Description
We are hiring at Valsoft for a dynamic Legal Counsel to join our growing Legal team in the US!
You will be working for a specific portfolio within Valsoft, providing timely legal support for contractual matters, and be part of the legal department comprised of over ten legal professionals who are driven and result-orientated based across the globe.

The successful candidate will be based anywhere in the US, working in a remote work model!
What your day will look like:
- Draft, review, and negotiate technology and software contracts with public and private sector customers across the United States and Canada
- Give accurate, balanced, and timely counsel to internal clients on a variety of legal topics
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement of commercial contract terms and create a library of standard contract provisions of clause libraries
- Work on different legal projects, including but not limited to new policies, templates and procedures, and other contractual and corporate legal regulatory matters
- Assist with managing the company’s intellectual property portfolio
About You:
- Legal degree from an accredited law school and bar admission is essential
- Direct experience in the software industry with technology companies is considered an asset
- At least 2 years of experience in the practice of law, general commercial legal experience in-house or at a law firm
- Proven track record in complex contractual work (including a clear understanding of contractual liability and indemnification principles) with demonstrated drafting and negotiation skills
- The ability to be recognized as an independent and respected legal advisor and the ability to work in a complex structure
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a significant workload while being self-driven
- Excellent communication, organizational skills and the ability to develop a broad skill set will be key to your success
- Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders across multiple international business units
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize in a fast-paced, global environment
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential, with additional languages considered an asset
- Legally authorized to work in the US
