The team delivers a mix of analysis, client and product news, reviews, opinions, and in-depth features to help time-poor professionals make sense of an increasingly fragmented market and help them make the right tech decisions and add value to their organizations. Webinars, whitepapers, and other research-led insight form a key tenet of our relationship with both our audiences and client partners.
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Global Content Director of B2B IT, the IT Industry Analyst will sit on the B2B IT Content team, supporting the editorial, commercial and wider content strategy. You will apply your expertise of the tech industry, strategy, and competition to create exciting and engaging insight-driven content, which is shared across multiple platforms and distribution channels.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to the successful creation, execution, and promotion of the B2B IT webinar program, assisting with topics and content suggestions, helping source real-world speakers, and being a panelist yourself.
- Develop an analyst-level relationship with key clients, including taking routine briefings, creating follow-up content from those meetings, and maintaining basic knowledge of client products and capabilities.
- Ensure the brand position and tone of voice for content remains key - and, in particular, in line with Future’s ESG around fake news/content and misinformation.
- Work with management, tech, development and audience teams to develop the most compelling content opportunities and results for B2B IT with a focus on the given area of coverage/expertise. Assist with reactive and proactive ideas generation that is both news-related and news-adjacent to the benefit of our audience and commercial partners
- Assist the wider and senior editorial and content marketing teams, as well as other stakeholders, in developing a successful B2B IT portfolio that is content-led Commercial partnerships. Contribute to the development of group editorial strategy.
- Use knowledge of enterprise tech industry, strategy and competition to help develop a competitive edge and USP for our brands and their audiences, ensuring pure editorial and commercial content is treated with the same respect and quality control.
- Support the efforts of Sales Associations and members of the sales team through participation in sales calls as a market/technical resource and help clients think through their messaging in ways that align to the services provided by Future B2B.
- Work with key stakeholders to create research-driven content that resonates with IT professionals around the world. This will include (but is not limited to):
- Repurposing webinar, whitepaper, and other content into new article formats for editorial and/or commercial purposes.
- Building a peer network of IT professionals you can call on to both take part in research, create community-driven content, and use as a focus group to get regular feedback on content direction.
- Representing Future B2B IT at events and, where required, reporting back and/or creating content post-event.
- Taking part in the judging process for Future B2B’s awards programs that have technical entries that merit assessment by industry experts.
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...
- Previous experience working in the IT industry is strongly preferred, but candidates who can prove they have the necessary real-world insight will also be considered
- Excellent writing and editing skills. Experience working as a writer or editor is a plus
- Fantastic communication, research, and interviewing skills
- The ability to lead by example and play a key role in the successful planning and execution of insight-led content strategy
- Drive and a keenness to develop yourself into a high-performing, insights-driven writer and editor and as part of a content team
- Communicate effectively with other writers and senior management, including freelance contributors
- Work using your own initiative and collaboratively with the team and other stakeholders/brands to build and maintain a successful B2B division
