The Head of Career will lead the design and execution of Sam’s career transition services, focusing on helping women navigate job loss, career changes, and professional development. You’ll recruit a team of experts, develop signature resources, and shape the future of how Sam supports women through life’s most pivotal moments. This is an equity-based role to start, with a transition to a full-time salaried position after funding is secured. Approximate 20 hours per week until launch.

About the Position

The Head of Career is essential to Sam’s mission. You will develop a service offering that equips women with the tools, confidence, and resources they need to thrive in career transitions (job loss/career change/returning to work). Leading a diverse team of experts—career coaches, resume advisors/consultants, public speaking coaches, stylists, attorneys, and financial planners—you’ll be at the forefront of creating the most impactful career transition resources available to women.

Key Responsibilities

• Service Design: Lead the creation of Sam’s career transition services for job loss, career change, return to work, and professional growth.
• Recruitment & Leadership: Build and lead a team of career professionals, including coaches, stylists, financial planners, and legal experts.
• Signature Resources: Oversee the development of webinars, workshops, and events designed to provide actionable support to women in transition.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Ensure seamless integration with other Sam subject-matter teams.
• Shape the Offering: Define and evolve Sam’s career transition offerings to make a lasting impact on women’s lives.

Sam is more than a service; it’s a mission-driven movement focused on supporting women navigate life’s most challenging transitions—like career changes, eldercare, and illness. Launching in March 2025, Sam provides expert-driven advice, curated resources, and a community for women to gain confidence and clarity. Our four-part model includes personal navigators, experts on demand, curated toolboxes, and a safe community platform exclusively for women. We are here to inspire change and support women every step of the way.

• You have 15+ years of experience in career coaching, human resources, leadership development, or a related field.
• You have led teams and managed professionals across different disciplines.
• You’ve built something from the ground up and thrived in a startup or entrepreneurial environment.

• You’re detail-oriented but can move forward without being paralyzed by analysis.
