Summary

You will be responsible for delivery and general management of Sidechains, with a number of autonomous tribes focused on the delivery of their products.  Your role will be to motivate the individuals within, and oversee the delivery by these Tribes.   

A Sidechain is a separate blockchain network that connects to another blockchain (parent blockchain or mainnet) and this role will involve oversight of all aspects of different networks each with their own utility and business application (evm compatibility, governance and others). Also included in this scope are products that facilitate intercommunication between chains in the form of bridges

We are a decentralized organization.  This means you will be a remote worker using technology to keep in contact with your teams.  The VP / General Manager of Delivery will work closely with all of the IOHK leadership team to ensure you deliver technology across the product lifecycle, to the highest standard and meeting customer needs.

Your unit will have three to five products, revenue targets of between $25M and $50M per annum, a head count of between 120 and 250, and a direct budget of between $12M and $30M per annum. 

Responsibilities

    • Understand the strategic direction of the company to align the timely delivery of well aligned products and business outcomes within your unit  
    • Full accountability for financial performance across Triple Returns (revenues, adoption, reputation) and expenditures, including such tasks as forecasting, variance reporting, budgeting and capacity demand
    • Promoting an autonomous, fail-fast, agility culture throughout the unit and ensuring clear accountabilities for following core standards and methods
    • Embedding data driven decision making & prioritization across the unit
    • Support the Chapter Directors to ensure the unit maintains high level of competence and operational excellence across product management, Technical and delivery disciplines
    • Participate and support Chapter directors in the hiring and effective line management of resources in a fully remote working environment.  
    • Provide accurate measurement of delivery and unit progress by tracking business outcomes, implementing OKRs and facilitating Product Roadmaps & Backlogs
    • Coordinate efforts and share insights with service departments and Tribe units across the organization and eliminate impediments
    • Approve and defend a set of Program Increment (PI) plans, knowing full well that they will never satisfy everyone

Requirements

    • 5 years+ in setting guardrails and enabling autonomous team management
    • 10+ years+ previous demonstrated experience in successful leadership of software product development and delivery (Agile & program management)
    • 7+ years+  budget management and P&L level responsibilities
    • 5 years+ accountability for achieving business outcomes
    • Experience and/or understanding of blockchain a plus
    • Experience with financial markets and/or emerging technology markets a plus
    • 5 years+ shaping messages and presenting to executive, customer and investor audiences
    • 3 years+ in a start-up company would be advantageous

IOG is a distributed organization and therefore this is a remote position. Due to team distribution, we are ideally searching for someone in the United States OR Ireland / UK.

The base salary for this position has a range of $230k up to $340k per year at the commencement of employment. Any offer is determined by overall experience and performance during the interview process. This is only part of the total compensation package.
