Freelance Writer (Political, Campaigns)

Location: Remote, Must be based and authorized to work in the US

Pay Range: $50-$100/hour (dependent on experience)

REAL Strategies is a unique solutions-based company that specializes in political and marketing strategies and works with trade associations, non-profits, and advocacy organizations. We focus on campaigns that shape conversations about critical issues. Using polling, data, and analytics, we build highly targeted campaigns across direct mail, TV, phone, radio, and digital media.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Political campaign mail copy writing for state and local campaigns

• Available days or evenings and weekends
• Project by project work assigned weekly toward the end of the week
• Review background material provided & research independently
• Develop content for direct mail, landing pages/website & digital ad taglines

Requirements

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

Clear and responsive communication with project manager

• Attention to detail
• Political copy writing a must, either in the form of direct mail, web site copy, video ads or ad text for candidate or issue campaigns.
• Strong interest in and familiarity with elections, legislative processes, and issue advocacy campaigns
• 1-2 cycles of experience on a political campaign, consulting firm, or other relevant position is a plus
• Deadline driven – there is no time for a missed deadline
• Able to work independently
