Freelance Professional Grant Writer with Nonprofit Expertise

Recipe for Change is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating positive social change through food. Our mission is to provide culinary instruction, job skills training and fine arts enrichment to detainees at Cook County Jail in Chicago. We strive to empower our students and equip them with the tools necessary to gain employment upon reentry thereby reducing recidivism.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled freelance grant writer. You will play a pivotal role in helping us secure the funding needed to continue our important work. This is a great opportunity for someone who is adept at crafting compelling narratives and has a deep understanding of the grant writing process.

Responsibilities

• Research potential funding opportunities from various sources
• Write and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines
• Gather the necessary information to ensure proposals and reports are comprehensive and compelling
• Work proactively with staff to identify fundable program initiatives

Requirements

• Proven experience in grant writing and securing funding
• Excellent research and analytical abilities
• Attention to detail and strong written communication skills
• Knowledge of fundraising principles and strategies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant writing software

Benefits

We would like to work with someone on a contract basis. Please submit a proposal with your required rate of pay either per hour or by project. Prefer potential candidate to be based in the Chicago area but not a requirement.
