Our core mission is to empower creators, whether they're businesses or individual freelancers, to thrive in their creative endeavours.

About the Role

We are a startup committed to preserving nature, biodiversity, and culture through our products. We are seeking a talented Packaging Designer to create innovative and sustainable packaging for two types of chocolate bars. The designs will draw inspiration from nature and indigenous iconography, aligning with our brand ethos and highlighting our commitment to sustainability. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while showcasing your creativity and design skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Development: Create two distinct packaging designs for chocolate bars—one for our in-house produced bar with wild cacao from Bolivia, and another for a co-branded bar produced by a community in Ecuador.
  • Brand Alignment: Ensure that both designs align with our brand identity concept, effectively communicating our dedication to nature, biodiversity, and cultural preservation.
  • Incorporate Iconography: Utilize nature-inspired elements and indigenous iconography to craft visually compelling and culturally respectful designs.
  • Sustainability Focus: Select sustainable materials and design practices that minimize environmental impact.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our team to understand the brand identity and specific requirements for each product.
  • Feedback Integration: Revise and refine designs based on feedback from stakeholders to ensure the final product meets all expectations.
  • Co-Branding: Incorporate the logo and branding elements of the Ecuadorian community in the co-branded design, maintaining a harmonious balance between both brands.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in packaging design, preferably in the food or consumer goods industry.
  • Design Skills: Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Creativity: Ability to creatively incorporate nature and indigenous elements into packaging designs.
  • Sustainability Knowledge: Understanding of sustainable materials and practices in packaging design.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness and respect for indigenous cultures and their iconography.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the team and stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure the quality and precision of the final designs.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing previous packaging design projects, particularly those inspired by nature or cultural elements.
