About the Role

A songwriter in a band is seeking a proficient and experienced senior-level music producer for a personal, ongoing solo music project within the indie rock genre. This is a long-term project that is not urgent, and the producer will have the freedom to work remotely without the need for a physical location. The budget range for this project is $75-100, and the client is open to creative inputs from the producer while maintaining the indie rock style.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the songwriter to understand their musical vision, ideas, and goals for the solo project.
2. Provide professional guidance and expertise in shaping and refining the songwriter's musical ideas into fully realized tracks.
3. Contribute creative inputs and arrangement suggestions while staying true to the indie rock genre.
4. Handle the production process, including recording, mixing, and mastering the tracks.
5. Ensure high-quality audio production and attention to detail throughout the project.
6. Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance the overall sound and cohesiveness of the project.
7. Work remotely and maintain effective communication with the songwriter throughout the production process.
8. Meet agreed-upon deadlines and deliver completed tracks within the established timelines.
9. Maintain a professional and collaborative working relationship with the songwriter.

Requirements

1. Senior-level experience as a music producer, with a strong portfolio in the indie rock genre.
2. Proficiency in using industry-standard digital audio workstations (DAWs) and audio production software.
3. Expertise in recording, mixing, and mastering techniques for indie rock music.
4. Strong understanding of songwriting, arrangement, and music theory.
5. Excellent ear for detail and the ability to shape and refine musical ideas.
6. Creativity and the ability to contribute unique and innovative ideas while respecting the songwriter's vision.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly with the songwriter.
