About the Role

A Hip-Hop/Rap artist and producer is seeking an expert-level freelancer to mix and master a 9-track mixtape project. The project's influence style is inspired by the late Pop Smoke, and the freelancer will be expected to execute the task remotely. The deadline for completing the project is June 10th, and the client is flexible with the budget, open to receiving offers.

Responsibilities:

1. Mix and master the 9 tracks of the Hip-Hop/Rap mixtape project.
2. Ensure the final mixes capture the desired Pop Smoke-inspired sound and style.
3. Apply appropriate audio processing techniques (e.g., EQ, compression, reverb) to enhance the overall quality of the mixes.
4. Balance the levels of various elements (vocals, instruments, beats) to create a cohesive and impactful listening experience.
5. Collaborate with the artist/producer to understand their vision and creative direction for the project.
6. Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the overall sound and quality of the tracks.
7. Ensure consistency in sound and level across all tracks.
8. Master the final mixes to prepare them for distribution and streaming platforms.
9. Deliver the mixed and mastered tracks by the specified June 10th deadline.

Requirements

1. Expert-level proficiency in mixing and mastering Hip-Hop/Rap music.
2. Extensive experience working with urban and trap-influenced genres, with a strong understanding of the Pop Smoke sound.
3. Proficiency in using industry-standard digital audio workstations (DAWs) and mixing/mastering software.
4. Strong technical skills in audio engineering, signal processing, and sound manipulation.
5. Excellent critical listening skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
7. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the artist/producer.
8. Familiarity with streaming platform requirements and best practices for audio mastering.
9. Willingness to work remotely and within the client's budget constraints.
