About the Role
Our client is seeking a mid-level illustrator to create character and setting designs for their upcoming children's novel. The illustrator will be responsible for bringing the story to life through visually captivating illustrations. This is a single, remote job that should be completed within a day or two.
Responsibilities:
- Carefully read and understand the provided story/manuscript to capture the essence of the characters and settings.
- Conceptualise and design appealing and age-appropriate character illustrations, capturing their personalities and unique traits.
- Design and illustrate the various settings and environments described in the story, creating visually engaging backgrounds.
- Ensure that the illustrations are consistent with the tone and genre of the children's novel.
Requirements
- Mid-level experience as an illustrator, with a strong portfolio showcasing character and environment designs, preferably for children's literature.
- Excellent drawing and digital illustration skills, with proficiency in industry-standard software and tools
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to capture the essence of characters and settings through illustrations.
- Familiarity with various illustration styles and techniques suitable for children's books.
- Creativity and the ability to bring unique and imaginative ideas to life through illustrations.
