About the Role

We are seeking a talented Comic Strip Illustrator to collaborate on a new personal project involving the creation of a weekly comic in a classic humorous cartoon style. The artist will work closely with the project creator to bring characters and ideas to life for a blog or website. This role is remote, requiring approximately 10 hours of work per week, with the potential for long-term collaboration. A good sense of humor and familiarity with American culture are preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Illustrate weekly comic strips in a style reminiscent of classic cartoons such as Snoopy, Dilbert, Garfield, or The Far Side.
• Collaborate with the project creator to conceptualize and develop characters, storylines, and humor for the comic strips.
• Create engaging and visually appealing illustrations that align with the project’s vision and tone.
• Deliver high-quality artwork on a consistent weekly schedule.
• Adapt to feedback and make revisions as necessary to meet the project’s standards.
• Maintain a strong sense of humor and creativity throughout the project.

Requirements

• Experience in comic strip illustration, with a portfolio showcasing work in a humorous cartoon style.
• Strong drawing skills and the ability to capture character expression, movement, and comedic timing.
• A good sense of humor and the ability to translate that into visual storytelling.
• Knowledge of and appreciation for American culture and classic comic strip styles.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet weekly deadlines.
• Openness to long-term collaboration if the project progresses successfully.
• Junior to mid-level experience is welcome; passion and style are key factors.
