- Conceptualize and develop unique and imaginative illustrations that align with the book's themes and target audience.
- Create detailed sketches and rough drafts for review and feedback.
- Refine and finalize illustrations, incorporating feedback and revisions as necessary.
- Ensure consistent visual style and color palette throughout the book's illustrations.
- Deliver high-quality, print-ready illustrations in the requested file formats.
- Maintain open communication with the writer regarding progress, timelines, and any challenges or requirements.
- Adhere to agreed-upon deadlines and project milestones.
Requirements
- Junior-level experience as a children's book illustrator, with a portfolio showcasing your unique artistic style and ability to create engaging and age-appropriate illustrations.
- Strong understanding of color theory, composition, and visual storytelling techniques.
- Proficiency in digital illustration software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate) and the ability to provide print-ready files in industry-standard formats.
- Creativity and imagination to bring characters and scenes to life in a visually appealing manner.
- Attention to detail and ability to incorporate feedback and revisions.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with the writer.
- Willingness to work within the specified budget range of $25-35 per hour.
- Availability to commit to the project timeline, which may span more than a week.
