About the Role
Our client, an author of children's books is seeking a talented illustrator to create simple, engaging illustrations for their upcoming book series. The project involves producing 10 to 15 images per book, focusing on child characters in various scenes. This short-term, remote opportunity offers the chance to contribute to charming children's literature with the potential for ongoing collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Create 10 to 15 simple line drawings or sketches per book
- Illustrate characters, primarily children, in specific scenes as directed by the author
- Maintain a consistent style throughout the book that is simple and not overly cartoony
- Work closely with the author to understand and visually represent the story's concepts
- Deliver illustrations in appropriate digital formats
Requirements
- Proven experience in children's book illustration
- Strong portfolio showcasing simple, appealing line drawings or sketches
- Ability to create child characters that are relatable and expressive
- Proficiency in digital illustration tools and techniques
- Skill in creating illustrations that complement and enhance written narratives
