About the Role

Our client, a production studio specializing in 3D and 2D animation is seeking a mid-level 3D animator to create a series of mini-animation reels for their project. The project aims to deliver captivating content for social media distribution, and the studio is particularly interested in an animation style similar to the Cars movie by Disney. The animator will have the flexibility to work remotely on this project, which is expected to last more than a week, with a targeted completion date of June 15th.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the project team to understand the creative vision and animation requirements
• Design and animate engaging 3D characters, environments, and assets for the mini-animation reels
• Incorporate the desired animation style, taking inspiration from the Cars movie by Disney
• Ensure consistent character movements, expressions, and lip-syncing (if applicable)
• Develop storyboards and animatics to plan out the animation sequences
• Implement appropriate lighting, texturing, and rendering techniques
• Optimise animations for smooth playback and social media distribution

Requirements

• Mid-level experience in 3D animation, with a strong portfolio showcasing character animation skills
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender)
• Knowledge of character rigging, modeling, and animation principles
• Familiarity with rendering engines and optimization techniques
• Excellent understanding of timing, spacing, and motion principles
• Ability to adapt to and incorporate specific animation styles and aesthetics
