About the Role

A dynamic entertainment company is seeking a talented 2D animator based in the United States to create an engaging intro sequence for an exciting new animated series. The project draws inspiration from classic 80s animated intros, particularly the style of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opening. This action-packed series focuses on mutants and is set initially in Thailand, taking cues from iconic 80s martial arts films. The company aims to produce a visually striking, nostalgic, yet fresh animated experience that complements the series' theme and instrumental soundtrack.

Responsibilities:

• Create a captivating 2D animated intro sequence that captures the essence of 80s action cartoons
• Design and animate characters, backgrounds, and special effects in a style reminiscent of late 80s animation
• Collaborate with the creative team to ensure the intro aligns with the series' overall tone and narrative
• Synchronise animations with the provided theme instrumental

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• Proven experience in 2D animation, with a portfolio demonstrating proficiency in retro-style animation
• Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, and movement
• Expertise in industry-standard 2D animation software (e.g., Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony)
• Ability to recreate and work within the visual style of late 80s animated series
• Knowledge of action-oriented animation techniques
