About the Role

A company is seeking a mid-level 2D animator for a long-term contract position. The project, titled "Bible Explainer Videos," involves creating a series of 2-minute Bible story explanation videos for children. The animator will be responsible for bringing provided artwork to life through character animations. This is a remote position, and the company is currently in the planning and research phase of the hiring process.

Responsibilities:

1. Animate characters based on the provided artwork for the "Bible Explainer Videos" series.
2. Ensure smooth and expressive character movements and lip-syncing to match the narration or dialogue.
3. Collaborate with the illustrator to understand the desired style and vision for the animations.
4. Maintain consistency in character movements and visual styles across the entire video series.
5. Incorporate feedback and make necessary revisions to the animations as required.
6. Utilize industry-standard 2D animation software and techniques to create high-quality animations.
7. Meet deadlines and deliver completed animated sequences within the specified timelines.
8. Participate in creative discussions and provide input on improving the overall visual quality of the videos.

Requirements

1. Mid-level experience in 2D character animation, with a strong portfolio demonstrating animation skills.
2. Proficiency in industry-standard 2D animation software (e.g., Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate, TV Paint).
3. Strong understanding of animation principles, such as timing, spacing, and character acting.
4. Ability to create fluid and expressive character movements and expressions.
5. Familiarity with digital painting and color theory.
6. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
7. Ability to work independently and remotely, while maintaining effective communication with the team.
8. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
9. Passion for animation and a willingness to learn and grow as an artist.
10. Ability to work on a long-term contract basis for the duration of the project.
