Flywheel Studio is a low-code development agency. We build web and mobile applications for startups and small and medium-sized businesses around the world using a combination of low-code tools and custom code. Currently, our tools of choice are FlutterFlow, WeWeb, Firebase, and Supabase.
While we're a software development agency at the end of the day, we take a fundamentally different approach to running our business, developing software, and working with clients. First, we focus on outcome-oriented development. We don't develop for the sake of shipping more features. Instead, we focus on the end result and how we can move the needle for our clients, whatever that might be. This forces us to be better developers, product managers, and partners to our clients.
Second, we believe the best way to deliver superior outcomes is to become an in-house product team, not just an outsourced development shop. On every project, we put together a team with expertise in product strategy, project management, design, and development and collaborate closely with our clients to make sure we are delivering what they want and need. In turn, our clients bestow a strong level of trust in us including the freedom to set our own budgets, roadmaps, and organizational priorities; and the ability to work directly with their users, vendors, investors, and strategic partners. In short, we go all in and become a part of our client's team to deliver the best outcomes.
To achieve all of this, we have a small, talented team that shares the same vision. Everyone at Flywheel is full time and all in. We don't have freelancers, contractors, or subcontractors. Our team is fully remote and dispersed around the world.
We are looking for an experienced Flutter Developer who shares our value of building high quality software with real business impact, and who is adaptive and open to learning FlutterFlow and other low code platforms.
As a Flutter Developer, you will be leading and working with junior team members to develop software for our clients. This involves designing the database schema, providing expertise in backend functions and integrations (Stripe, SendGrid, Twilio, etc.), and solving technical issues.
Key responsibilities:
🧾 Lead and manage 2-3 client projects concurrently during the development phase of projects.
📦 Coordinate and communicate with the designer, project manager, and product manager.
📑 Develop front-end projects in line with design and requirements.
💼 Drive projects towards on-time completion.
📊 Provide senior technical expertise and share valuable experience.
🗓️ Manage and facilitate training for junior developers.
🧾 Ensure the delivered software products are of high quality and error-free.
📦 Design effective database schemas.
Working Hours ⏰: Full time. While they generally prefer team members to work from 8 AM to 5 PM ET, there's flexibility for those who can effectively work asynchronously, with potential adjustments based on roles (e.g., accommodating European hours).
Requirements
To excel in this role, you need to have:
✅ Strong proficiency in Flutter with a minimum 3 years of experience
✅ Previous experience in backend development, ideally in Node.js
✅ Capability to deliver top-notch, error-free software.
✅ Demonstrated experience in leading teams and projects.
✅ Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
As the Ideal Candidate, you should be:
✅ A proactive problem solver.
✅ An effective communicator.
✅ Accountable and proactive.
✅ Exceptionally attentive to details and well-organised.
✅ Self-motivated.
✅ Outspoken and willing to express your ideas.
✅ A team player.
Brownie Points for:
✅ Proficiency in FlutterFlow or another no-code/low-code platform.
✅ Experience with Firebase and Supabase.
✅ Previous exposure to agency, studio, or project-based work environments.
✅ Familiarity with no-code/low-code platforms.
