Laundry Service is a full-Service marketing agency helping brands create meaningful roles in culture, with an emphasis on lifestyle, sports, music, tech and entertainment. The agency handles strategy, analytics, creative, production, community management and media buying in-house, with a focus on social and digital media. Laundry Service has been named to AdAge’s A-List four times, and recognized and one of FastCo’s most innovative companies.
Laundry Service is seeking bright, talented and innovative interns to work in person and remotely with our team this fall! You should have an amazing attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and be able to take ownership of the tasks assigned.
INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
Account Management: Comfortable talking to anyone? Happy to take the lead? Use your skills to build client relationships, support your partners by selling in great work and lead the execution of successful creative campaigns by joining the account team!
- Work alongside your manager to learn client communication and management best practices.
- Support collaboration between the strategy, creative, influencer, paid media and project management teams to deliver great work against client briefs.
- Plan client agendas and support client requests.
- Help to lead internal planning and brainstorm sessions.
Analytics: Love math? Obsessed with data? You’ll fit in perfectly with our analytics team! Work with us to analyze audience data, campaign performance, and support the strategic and creative teams as we work together to optimize our work for the best results.
- Collaborate alongside strategy to provide social observations and recommendations all backed by data.
- Dive into consumer conversations on social to understand the way audiences think and feel about certain brands and topics, informing long-term strategy and in-real-time social approaches.
- Get to know other departments and how analytics can play a role to enhance their work – analytics is beyond just looking at numbers, its understanding how our team can use them to better the work!
Creative // Art + Design: If you’re a nerd for kerning or turned on by typography. If you design zines or run meme accounts. If you live on TikTok or dream in dribbble. If you go ham with illustration or dabble in animation. If you’re obsessed with r/photoshopbattles or logo-a-day challenges. Show us what you got.
- Digital design portfolio that demonstrates an eye for visual communications, brand identity, and cultural trends. (Optional)
- General knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
- General understanding of social media platform constraints as they impact digital design.
Creative // Content Creator: Are you chronically online & always explaining TikTok trends to your peers who are stuck on IG? Have you made a viral video, experimented with YouTube vlogging, or been early on following influencers who became the next big thing? Know how to use Adobe Premiere? *Surprise* there’s a career for that!
- Create short-form video content for TikTok, IG, YT (+ some tweets and caption copy)
- Concept native-to-social ideas, and bring them to life on-camera
- Participate in brainstorms, communicate concepts and take direction and feedback from Creative Directors and Account Leads.
Creative // Copywriting: Your IG captions are better than your photos. You’ve written a friend’s Tinder bio—and they got more matches. You have a strong opinion on the Oxford comma. You like writing scripts but prefer making memes. You hate the word ‘wordsmith.’ Word? Word.
- Experience writing and editing copy for digital campaigns (or spec work)
- Knowledge of spelling and grammar, with the ability to bend the rules if creativity calls for it
- Innate curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit
- Good with words, even better with ideas
- General understanding of social media and the authentic ways it can impact and respond to culture + trends
New Business: Obsessed with winning? Join the team that brings everyone together to pitch new business, win new clients and seamlessly manage the handoff to the accounts team, all while thoughtfully cultivating meaningful relationships with our most important brand partners.
- Support on new business pitches, including attending all internal check ins, putting together research briefs on company background, supporting strategy team research requests to build creative brief, auditing brand's social channels, conducting research to vet feasibility of creative ideas and copyediting presentation materials prior to pitch
- Build onboarding guides for new business after a pitch is won, aggregating all pitch materials and supporting on onboarding the agency team dedicated to the account
- Build presentation materials and case studies on new work
- Support on keeping the agency website up to date with the latest case studies and work
Paid Media: Curious how that product you were watching a YouTube review for yesterday somehow showed up on your Instagram feed today? Learn how companies use social and digital ads to drive their business.
- Media Planning: What’s the overall goal, and what KPIs will determine if the campaign is successful? What platforms do we best reach our priority audiences, and what creative will best motivate these audiences?
- Campaign Management: Building ads directly in ad platforms (i.e. Facebook, TikTok, Google), monitor results in real-time, optimize ads based on performance.
- Insights Reporting: Analyze social results to identify trends and a story that explains campaign performance. Develop actionable recommendations on how these learnings can be applied for future campaigns.
Project Management: Are you constantly making to-do lists, always on time, never forget a birthday or a holiday? Then project management is the team for you! Join our team and help manage campaigns from start to finish. You will be the glue that holds the team together.
- Assist Project Managers with scheduling meetings
- Develop project plans/schedules
- Route strategy or creative work to internal team members for reviews
- Help gather documentation and spec sheets for projects
- Track project targets and goals.
- Attend client meetings to help improve project process and communicate action items, deadlines, and internal team notes.
Production: Interested in the work that goes on behind the scenes of our video, photo and mixed media content? Work with our Production team to learn what it takes to plan a full-scale content shoot, from mapping out logistics to postproduction.
- Work alongside Producers and Production managers as they plan out photo, video shoots and map out general logistics for up and coming projects.
- Support production management with expense tracking, call sheets, production reports or other.
- Learn the ins and outs of location scouting and permitting.
- Learn and understand the necessary releases required for any successful shoot.
- Attend internal and client meetings with all departments
- Learn how crews are sourced for shoots (ranging in scale).
- Support producers on research on up and coming talent as it pertains to Directors, DPs, Photographers, production designers, and other Key crew.
- Get a glimpse of post-production overlap and workflow between the two core departments (Production & Post)
Post Production: Interested in the work that happens after the cameras stop rolling? Work with our Post Production team to learn what it takes to plan and execute the last mile of the video production process.
- Work with Post Supervisors, Editors, Motion Artists and Asst. Editors as they work to take the raw elements from production (video, audio, design files) and build it into a polished piece of content.
- Gain hands-on experience receiving/organizing/transcoding media from the field and have the opportunity to build your own edit based off of creative decks, direction, and notes.
- Attend post-focused production meetings, edit kick-offs, reviews, and finishing sessions to further learn the day-to-day operations required for delivering final video work.
- We work with Adobe Creative Cloud, mainly Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Media Encoder. We also use Davinci Resolve for certain tasks.

- Work on consumer research.
- Build strategic decks for presentations with department leads and clients.
- Assist the team with trend reporting
- Work on audience development (analytics & insight) as well as creative development alongside the team.
Social Media Management: Love everything about social media platforms. Learn about the inner workings of the platforms and how all our departments work together to manage our brand channels. Learn how departments collaborate for ideation.

WHAT MAKES OUR INTERNSHIP UNIQUE
Collaboration and hands-on work sit at the core of our internship program. Our approach is designed to introduce aspiring advertising professionals to the industry by integrating them directly into live projects. Work alongside your manager to develop strategies and content for brands like Google, Amazon, Hennessy, Marriott, Pepsi and TikTok.
Requirements
You are eligible if you are…
- Proactive, innovative and excited about the advertising industry
- Excellent organizational, time management and fire communication skills, both verbal and written
- Passionate about culture and what makes people tick
- Resourceful, solution-focused and creative
- Enrolled in a full-time Undergraduate or Master’s Program. If you are an undergraduate student, you must have completed your freshman and sophomore year of college/ university
- Able to receive credit from US-based University where you are enrolled
KEY FALL 2024 DATES
Our Fall 2024 internship application is currently live and set to close on May 17, 2024. Interviews will take place June-Aug.
This internship program starts on September 10th and ends on December 13th, 2024. The program will feature a diverse set of learning opportunities, as well as hands-on client work.
