Full Job Description
Symmetrio is actively recruiting for an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Technical Manager for our customer, a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. The ERP Technical Manager is responsible for leading a team tasked with overseeing the technical functions of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence (DW/BI) project. This is a full time position that will transition to maintenance and support once the implementation phase is complete. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ERP systems, project management, and team leadership, as well as a deep understanding of the technical challenges and opportunities associated with large-scale system implementations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the technical team.
- Mentor and grow the technical team while keeping them engaged and focused on the ERP and DW/BI project goals.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where team members are encouraged to ask questions and work in the open.
- Be familiar with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC).
- Provide leadership and guidance during the implementation of technical areas for ERP, BI, and 3rd party bolt-on applications.
- Oversee the timely completion of deliverables required by the project work plan.
- Manage the technical team and ensure the coordination of their work with other team members.
- Communicate with functional users to clarify requirements and testing.
- Review and approve technical specifications.
- Confirm delivered code complies with development standards.
- Lead break-fix and regression testing efforts after system deployment.
- Analyze vendor-provided new release integration and reporting technologies to determine relevance to optimize current or satisfy new technical requirements.
- Support and maintain the production systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills (including the ability to present ideas in user-friendly, business-friendly, and technical language) and interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
- Strong meeting facilitation and interviewing skills.
- Ability to work well with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced organization.
- Supervising, coaching, and collaborating skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or education in accounting, finance, operations management, IT, business administration, statistics, data science, or related fields.
- Experience with ERP development, including customizations, modifications, bolt-on, workflow, interface development, and data conversions.
- Experience in managing teams.
- Experience with implementing ERP and/or DW/BI solutions strongly preferred.
- Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
