SUMMARY:
The English Language Development (ELD) Paraeducator enhances the ELD program by supporting and working with students and school staff to perform all duties with accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism. The ELD Paraeducator will coordinate with the ELD supervisor and content area teachers in the delivery of English language and content instruction. This position supports ELD students in the acculturation process and assists with translation and interpretation materials. *Bilingual English/Spanish - preferred
- The hourly ELD Paraeducator pay rate is $19 per hour with 21 hours of paid time off (PTO) - prorated based on start date
CURRENT VACANCIES:
- Kennett High School: Monday through Friday from 7:15am - 2:45pm
- Elementary Level: Monday through Friday from 8:15am - 3:45pm
Requirements
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma required. For Title I positions - Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB.
- Associates or Bachelors Degree - preferred
- Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred
- Bilingual speaking skills in Spanish / English - preferred
- Must have the ability to relate effectively with students, staff and public in a professional manner
CREDENTIALING :
(Clearances current within 12 months)
- PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
- PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
- PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
- TB Screening - current within 3 months
- Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
