Acentra is looking for an EDI Developer, Senior to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
As a senior EDI Developer, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and testing of EDI transactions using IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) for large MMIS (Medicaid Management Information System) systems with no supervision. The scope of work includes both new system implementation and operations and maintenance of existing systems. You will be a member of the Technical Services - CPS team and will report directly to the CPS Manager.
Acentra Health supports a high-volume healthcare data system that is accessed through multiple web portals. This high-volume system must reliably be available to our clients 7x24x365.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- Under no supervision, works with clearly defined guidelines to support system design, develop and implement components of the EDI transactions using IBM Transformation Extender and maintain or modify EDI transactions.
- Set up EDI processes, test and implement EDI Type tree and maps using ITX.
- Collaborate with clients to manage business related processes per the service level agreements.
- Create relationships with third party vendors and external clients to implement CORE 270/271, 276/277, 837, 835,820,834,277CA EDI transactions.
- Develop and prepare EDI documentation for internal and external use.
- Train and help other team members on ITX and any issues on ITX implementation.
- Integrate ITX with Database, FTP Servers and WebSphere to fetch the required data and files.
- Ensuring adherence to application development best practices, guidelines, and processes for implementing custom developed and packaged solutions.
- Understanding functional specifications and coordinating with offshore team.
- Support EDI implementations and maintenance, including onboarding new EDI trading partners, collaborate with existing EDI trading partners, assist Business Analysts with creating functional specifications, prepare status reports and training material for projects.
- Act as the point-of-contact for status of EDI transactions for both internal and external customers if needed.
- Managing daily operations of CORE 270/271, 276/277, 837, 835,820,834,277CA and sub-systems application development focused on Java, EDIFECS and SQL, PL/SQL technologies.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- You have Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7+ years of relevant work experience.
- You have minimum of 7 years’ experience working on ITX and Java.
- You must have very strong experience implementing IBM Transformation Extender.
- You have working knowledge of Unix/Linux OS platforms.
- You have strong working knowledge of front-end and back-end technology stacks.
- Collaborate with business unit teams as it relates to application software development using Java application frameworks, web services environments, languages, and formats.
- You have experience with CI/CD pipelines steps and automation tools.
- You have robust working experience with relational databases (such as Oracle, SQL Server).
- You have working knowledge of defect and document management tools, as well as best practices around branching strategies, versioning techniques, and other DevOps practices.
- You have good understanding of configuring application code on cloud infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Domain knowledge of healthcare or MMIS experience in Medicaid – Provider and Claims system with EDI transactions.
- Knowledge on any Integration mapping tools (i.e., Edifecs, Mercator, Gentran).

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $90,000.00/yr - $148,600.00/yr
