Full Job Description

Location: Remote—East Coast of the US preferred

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Scripta insights is a high-growth, venture-backed healthcare IT company focused on lowering pharmacy benefit costs for payers (health plans, self-insured employers, and their employees). We used sophisticated data analytics to identify savings opportunities making prescription drugs more affordable to our clients, and their employees, helping to improve quality of life and quality of outcome.

The Director of Strategy & Business Development serves as a critical thought partner and advisor to the CEO, driving strategic initiatives, business development efforts, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational growth and success. This dual-role position combines strategic leadership with operational execution, providing comprehensive support to the CEO and ensuring alignment across all teams and initiatives. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with exceptional analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills, capable of navigating complex challenges and delivering impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with the CEO to define and execute business strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct research, analyze market trends, and identify growth opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop frameworks and processes to evaluate and prioritize initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and objectives.
  • Translate high-level strategies into actionable plans, ensuring timely and effective execution.

Business Development

  • Lead efforts to identify and pursue business development opportunities, including inbound requests and proactive outreach to potential partners.
  • Evaluate and develop partnerships that bring strategic value and solutions to the organization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including partners, vendors, and industry leaders.
  • Drive negotiations and develop proposals for business partnerships and other strategic initiatives.

Chief of Staff Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor and sounding board to the CEO, providing insights and recommendations based on cross-functional collaboration and research.
  • Represent the CEO in internal and external meetings as needed, communicating goals and gathering insights as needed.
  • Compile monthly/quarterly/annual business reports for Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Manage bi-weekly ELT meetings (set agenda, follow up on deliverables, etc.).
  • Support ELT in weekly, quarterly and annual planning process to ensure all teams are aligned including budgeting. 
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of strategic analysis, business updates, and other written documents and presentations for Board of Directors (BOD) meetings.
  • Report status and address project questions with the team and ELT and provide up-to-date information to ensure all status reports are current and correct for all stakeholders to review. 
  • Provide support to team on various culture initiatives. 
  • Partner with CEO on ad-hoc projects 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to drive alignment and accountability for key projects and initiatives.
  • Work closely with leadership teams to monitor progress on organizational goals, identifying roadblocks and proposing solutions.
  • Act as a central point of contact for cross-departmental efforts, ensuring clarity and focus on desired outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or a related field is required.
  • Proven ability to lead and execute strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to quickly understand a complex business, the market in which it competes, and it’s business model.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated experience managing relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and presentation tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, CRM platforms).
