Do you geek out on Media Buying and love driving revenue through direct response marketing? Would you consider yourself a LEADER of LEADERS?

If you’ve answered YES to both of these questions, have built and guided multiple teams, have at least 5+ years of experience with Media Buying and want to trailblaze and lead a full performance department, then keep reading.

In this role, you'll have a direct line of collaboration with the company CEO and other key executives of a rapidly expanding direct response advertising agency. You will conceptualize, develop, and lead the complete performance marketing division of the organization.

As the Director of Performance, the following departments will fall under your strategic leadership, which you will have to develop, manage, and expand:

  • Media Buying
  • Copywriting
  • Videography
  • Business Intelligence
  • Account Management

You'll assume leadership of multiple groups, each consisting of these roles. Your mission will be to lead them in assisting our clients to continually increase their revenue, each quarter, month, week, and day.

About The Role:

Client Accelerators is seeking a Director of Performance to support both the strategic and tactical needs of our internal media buying team and our clients as we continue to grow our Performance Advertising Agency.This role is pivotal for the company, as it holds the responsibility to significantly contribute to our company's revenue growth objectives. The right person for this position should be adept at thriving in a start-up environment, engaging with CEOs and founders, building and fostering relationships, and ensuring uniformity and consistency across multiple brands. Your contribution will be key to our company's continued success.

As our Director of Performance, you will oversee the team responsible for planning, launching, and managing performance marketing solutions, which include:

    • Owned and earned digital marketing services
    • Paid digital marketing services
    • Creative services

The Director of Performance will adopt the overall goals and agreed-upon plans of the Leadership Team and drive those results. The Director will play a pivotal role in planning, recruiting, and directing pod leaders and their teams to achieve sales targets and ultimately drive revenue for each client in the pod.

The Director shall assist in:

  • Forecasting and tracking bonuses generated for each pod
  • Build launch plans
  • Analyze data
  • Conduct training with pod leaders (and their teams as bandwidth allows)
  • Mentor each pod leader, and assist in the decision-making process of hiring new media buyers and account managers.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Hiring & Leading Other Managers (Must Have)This is an absolute must in this position. You need to have hired and built multiple teams. Considering that you will oversee many pods of our performance marketing, we expect you to develop our current leaders, delegate, and lead their growth. You will ultimately be accountable for the KPIs and goals of growing the performance team.


Forecasting HR
  • Assist in forecasting the hiring needs of each team in the performance marketing division. The Director is responsible for collaborating with the HR department to ensure we are placing appropriate talent in each open role, in addition to onboarding and properly training new Media Buyers.


Product Roadmap

  • Overall responsibility for defining the vision of performance marketing services and translating that vision into a working product roadmap identifying new service offerings, how and when new services are implemented, service pricing, supporting technology platforms, and new service pilot opportunities.


Playbook Creation

  • Create and document effective processes and methodologies for the consistent delivery of performance marketing services and continually monitor and improve upon them. This commitment to continual improvement ensures heightened profitability and value for our clients.


Data-Driven Decision Making

  • In this company, our entire team is data-driven, we do not make decisions without data to support them. We want you to develop critical leading indicators of success, establish proper measuring systems, and devise systematic reporting structure and cadence.


Client Strategy & Quarterly Objectives

  • We are obsessed with client results, which is why we need to make sure we’re constantly improving client metrics. We want to implement monthly/quarterly/annual marketing metric reviews, including but not limited to:
    • Analysis of campaign performance
    • Lead conversion
    • Customer database growth/quality and pipeline growth


Team Member Growth

  • We love developing the next line of leaders in CA, you will be tasked with creating annual goals and development plans for team members, as well as provide ongoing training and coaching to maximize team member contribution and satisfaction


Sales

  • When needed, we will lean on you to bring in some strategic advice when pitching big name brands and clients.


Thought Leadership

  • Act as a subject matter expert on performance marketing services both internally and externally through the development of thought leadership assets, representing CA at speaking engagements, and the internal evangelism of services


Funnel Strategy & Execution

  • One thing we are leaning into more this year is developing funnels for our clients that will allow them to scale to new heights. You will help strategize, develop, and help the team launch new marketing funnels for our top clients (Low Ticket Straight Sale Funnels, Webinar Funnels, Call Funnels, etc..)
  • Overall responsibility for managing and collaborating with internal/external stakeholders:
  • Translates strategy into operational goals and creates a portfolio of projects that drives execution of the organizational strategy and operating goals which addresses long-term challenges/opportunities
  • Ensure collaborative workflow and integration with client success management, strategic planning, project management, creative services, technical services, business development, and operations to optimize the delivery of performance marketing services


Launch Team

  • We have a fully built out ‘Launch Team’ that each new client goes through, this allows us to set strategy, forecast results, develop creatives, & mitigate any risks to our launch procedure over a 14 day period. You will act as a strategic consultant and partner in the on-boarding and management of high-profile accounts, and will give final approval of each launch plan.


Business Development

  • Since you will have insight into every single client on our roster, you will be able to see which clients might need a new funnel, have the ability to grow. You will work with account managers to identify opportunities for business development and incremental opportunities with clients

  • We use Skype internally – it is the go to for any/all internal communications
  • We use Slack for Client Communications (external communication tool)

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in an agency and/or marketing experience in managing clients / brands
  • At least one year experience in a Leadership role
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to understand and analyze metrics
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Able to quickly adapt to changes


Results:

  • Each pod is hitting their agreed upon bonus goals every quarter
  • We hit 100% of forecasted bonus collected goals every quarter (or better)
  • Client goals are projected every single quarter & a plan by each pod is put together to hit them
  • We hit 80% of forecasted profit goals across client portfolio files
  • Media Buying Playbook is launched & tracking system is setup in Asana to ensure QA
  • 4-6 Week Training system is created for new Media Buyers to go through which will decrease ramp time
  • Grading system is created for new Media Buyers which assesses if they approved to take on clients
  • Quarterly reviews are done with all direct reports & DOP makes sure their direct reports also conduct quarterly reviews with their team
  • Director of Performance (DoP) signs off on all Client Launch plans before they are presented to newly onboarded client
