Who You Are: 

Figure 8 is looking for our next Director of Food and Beverage Operations to join our fun-filled team. To be considered for this role, you are a strategic operator, a hospitality and experience lover and truly understand the power of imagination and connection! You need a strong background in food and beverage, strategy, operations, and finance. You take great pride in delivering a memorable guest experience through maintaining a seamless operation.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Co-develop the food and beverage treats, including but not limited to, cocktails, milkshakes, ice cream sundaes, seasonal selections, plus new experience and event treats
  • Co-develop food and beverage artifacts, including effective training and implementation materials that are delivered in a timely manner for programmatic, seasonal and new museum launches 
  • Develop and manage the purchasing, sourcing and F&B cogs strategy for all sites, which includes working with national partners and a focus on getting economies of scale and pricing
  • Develop and maintain site level product strategy (core, seasonal, special event etc), consistent across multiple sites.
  • Ensure best in class hospitality and experience standards of serving quality treats, and create accountability standards, training, oversight to maintain quality of taste and aesthetic standards. 
  • Implement the strategic food and beverage goals and translate them into tactical plans, developing menus and analyzing and adjusting menus as needed. 
  • Ensure that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in place and consistently utilized;
  • Ensure that effective orientation and training for new staff are planned and implemented; 
  • Oversees company wide procurement negotiation for F&B items
  • Form and manage partnership with marketing to build loyalty of existing guests and attract new ones through food and beverage offering.
  • Maximize revenue and profit while maintaining the quality, standards and integrity of our food & beverage selection.
  • Coordinates/oversees food and beverage equipment in all MOIC locations ; periodically conducting inspection of equipment and food and beverage spaces to ensure compliance with health, safety and food handling. 
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for food and beverage offerings, including but not limited to, check lists, standard operating procedures and trainings. 
  • Works directly with on-site management to ensure that day-to-day food and beverage operations are met and kept to MOIC standards. 
  • Creates cadence of reporting for month-end inventory along with site managers and accounting.
  • Ensure weekly check in with site GM, creative lead and related team members. 
  • Consult and oversee development of menu, equipment needs and spatial layouts for F&B spaces for future museums
  • Innovate on reducing single use packages and bringing up environmental standards
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the food and beverage managers and staff, create and foster a positive and motivated work environment; 
  • Able to pivot and be flexible within work environments; 
  • Available to support and partner other departments in relation to food and beverage. 

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Requirements

The Necessities and Nice-to-Haves:

  • Must have knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules, and regulations, liquor laws and regulations
  • Six (6) years of relevant experience with a minimum of three (3) years as a manager/director in a high-volume Food & Beverage operation
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
  • Ability to interpret financial and operational data into operational plan
  • Technology proficient (Able to confidently navigate google drive, excel, POS
  • systems, and comfortable teaching these systems to others)
  • Patient, intuitive, honest, and kind to all
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, be detail-oriented, organized, and maintain confidentiality
