Job Summary:
Lazer is seeking an accomplished Director of Delivery, Shopify to lead the successful development and delivery of enterprise-grade eCommerce solutions for some of the world’s largest brands. In this strategic role, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery function, managing Technical Architects and Product Owners while owning the delivery pipeline for Shopify-based products.
This role demands a seasoned leader with deep expertise in Shopify and a proven background in project management, product management, and software engineering. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, on-time launches of complex commerce platforms, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and continuously innovating to improve the delivery process.

The Role
Delivery Leadership
- Own the overall delivery function for Shopify projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
- Oversee multiple project teams, including Product Owners and Technical Architects, to deliver scalable, high-performing eCommerce solutions.
- Establish and maintain best practices for project delivery, focusing on efficiency, innovation, and quality.
- Monitor delivery pipelines, budgets, and timelines, resolving roadblocks proactively.
Strategic Oversight
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives and success metrics, ensuring alignment with client business strategies.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in delivery methodologies, incorporating feedback and emerging trends.
- Lead platform migrations and custom implementations for enterprise brands, ensuring seamless transitions and robust performance.
Team Management
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Technical Architects, Product Owners, and other delivery personnel.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the delivery team.
- Provide career development opportunities and regular performance feedback.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a strategic advisor to enterprise clients, building trust with senior stakeholders and C-suite executives.
- Lead governance meetings to provide delivery updates, address challenges, and align on priorities.
- Serve as the escalation point for major delivery concerns, ensuring swift resolution and client satisfaction.
Technical and Process Expertise
- Leverage your technical background to guide solution design, ensuring it aligns with Shopify best practices.
- Oversee integrations with ERP, OMS, and CMS systems, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Champion Agile delivery methodologies, driving adherence to Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid frameworks as appropriate.
Qualifications
Professional Experience
- 10+ years of experience in project delivery, product management, or software engineering, with a significant focus on eCommerce.
- Deep expertise with Shopify Plus and its ecosystem, including custom development, integrations, and migrations.
- Proven success delivering complex, enterprise-grade eCommerce solutions on time and within budget.
Leadership Skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, balancing technical and business priorities.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and scaling diverse teams across technical and non-technical functions.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming delivery challenges.
Client Engagement
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders.
- Experience engaging with enterprise clients, providing strategic insights, and managing escalations effectively.
Technical and Process Proficiency
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, eCommerce platforms, and technical architecture.
- Experience with ERP, OMS, CMS, and third-party solution integrations (e.g., Netsuite, Sanity, Manhattan).
- Strong familiarity with Agile frameworks and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Preferred Qualifications
- Shopify certifications or equivalent expertise.
- Experience transitioning from platforms like Magento, Salesforce, or BigCommerce to Shopify.
- Background in enterprise project portfolio management, overseeing multi-million-dollar budgets.
