The Position:
Senior Nurse Administrator who will oversee the clinical education for all medical teams throughout Esperta Health, reporting to the Chief Medical Officer. The position requires a Nurse Practitioner who is experienced and certified in wound care, team-oriented, and able to oversee full clinical training for all nursing roles. The Director of Clinical Education will ensure clinicians are certified either through a company approved wound certifying body or by developing a company-based wound certification. The Director of Clinical Education will work with designated members of the executive team to ensure staff are provided with appropriate training to meet performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Services, Chief Medical Officer, Regional and State Medical Directors, and the Director of Quality Assurance.
- Oversee onboarding and training, new employee clinical orientation, and annual clinical skill competencies.
- Responsible for developing company-based wound care certification and developing knowledge-based testing to ensure competence.
- Ensure policies and procedures for nursing education are in place and updated.
- Oversee staff development training annually and on a regular schedule as needed to ensure competency.
- Oversee department budget.
- Develop and foster collaboration and partnerships both within the organization and outside of the organization as needed to provide employee education and training.
- Use information obtained from the Director of Quality Assurance to identify areas where education or hands-on training is needed.
- Provide communication for all clinical staff about educational offerings.
- Support marketing with developing clinically sound blogs, emails, and other media-based communication as needed.
- Ensure educational offerings follow and provide knowledge regarding regulatory guidelines.
- Contribute to the company website with educational offerings/opportunities for CME/CEUs.
- Develop regional and local preceptor systems to ensure clinical skills are consistent throughout Esperta Health regions of care.
- Develop a system to allow for in-person skills checkoffs within each region and pod.
- Remain available for administrative support.
Requirements
- Certified through ANCC or AANP as a Nurse Practitioner
- WOCN certification or other company approved wound care certification required
- Current, unencumbered nursing license and Advanced Practice Certification
- Minimum of 5 years' experience treating chronic wounds in a hospital, outpatient, or post-acute setting
- Direct patient care experience
- Proficient in using electronic medical records
- Experience in providing clinical education
- Ability to become licensed in multiple states, if needed
- Willingness to travel — expected to be between 50-75% during periods of high-volume onboarding
- Reliable internet access required
