About the Role:
Are you ready to lead and make an impact in a rapidly growing company? As our Director, Corporate Accounting, you’ll oversee all financial accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and driving efficiency within the team. You’ll play a strategic role in shaping the financial landscape of our organization. Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the corporate accounting function, including month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Policy Development: Lead the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, tax, legal, payroll, HR, and external auditors to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
- Process Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations through process improvements and automation.
- Financial Statement Oversight: Supervise the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring adherence to internal controls and the accuracy of financial data.
- Audit Management: Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of financial statements.
- Team Leadership: Direct and mentor the corporate accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain financial accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- System Optimization: Manage and optimize financial systems and ERP platforms to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Procurement Strategy: Establish procurement policies to optimize spending and enhance the procurement strategy.
- Financial Performance Monitoring: Analyze financial performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements to senior management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, particularly those impacting the fintech industry, and ensure compliance.
- Cost Control: Implement strategies for cost control and expense management to support the organization’s financial objectives.
- Accounts Management: Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax filings.
- Risk Management: Evaluate and manage financial risks and opportunities, providing strategic guidance to the organization.
- Strategic Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, supporting strategic initiatives with financial insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred. A Master’s degree in accounting is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years in corporate accounting or financial reporting, ideally within fintech or SaaS industries.
- Proven experience in managing and developing accounting professionals.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls, with experience in ERP systems (preferably NetSuite).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and financial analysis expertise.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to senior leadership.
- Familiarity with international accounting standards and multi-currency environments is advantageous.
