👋In case we've never met before, we're WebMechanix - an award-winning digital marketing agency based in Columbia, MD. We run high-impact performance marketing programs for over 65+ clients, which means we manage a lot of advertising campaigns across a lot of brands that need our creative support.

As a Digital Designer, you are responsible for all basic digital design tasks, including but not limited to: video ads, social media ads, banner ads, landing page designs, and email layouts. You will work independently or alongside art directors and creative directors to create relevant concepts and then execute on those concepts once approved. It will be important for you to absorb and retain key information about our clients’ brands, target audiences, and other mandatories and apply those to your work. You will be the standard to which junior designers will aspire.

In addition, this role is responsible for responding to other creative tasks to support our clients (e.g., revisions, fixes, re-sizing, etc.). As a Digital Designer, you will be accountable for the quality of final work that goes to the client.

This is a multidisciplinary role that requires the Digital Designer to work across a variety of different tools and media platforms to ensure client success. You may also mentor more junior talent as needed.\

Here's what you'll do:

  • 80% time completing queue assignments for various clients and internal initiatives:
    • Google and Social Ads
      • Static, Animated, and UGC ads
    • Landing Pages
  • 20% time completing project assignments: 
    • Website redesigns
    • Client rebranding
    • Video production and storyboarding
  • Reviewing creative work for junior team members
  • Recording footage for UGC ads
  • Editing footage for UGC ads 
  • Developing ideas and concepts with marketing teams for future campaigns

Requirements

Here's what you'll have:

  • Thorough knowledge of design tools such as:
    • Adobe Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe After Effects)
    • Figma
  • Thorough knowledge of digital advertising: 
    • Platform advertising specs and best practices (e.g., for Google Display Network, Facebook ads, LinkedIn advertising, etc.)
    • Media platform requirements (and where to find and apply them)
  • Thorough knowledge of business acumen
    • Understands and can articulate how good creative practices and principles can impact a business’s overall strategy or goal
    • Demonstrates an ability to align goals of a task or assignment to the overall client and/or agency strategy and on brief.
    • General knowledge of how our clients operate (e.g., sales channels, costs, resources needed, key partners, etc.) and how that can impact our work
  • Thorough knowledge of workflow management & optimization
    • Excellent time management skills and strict adherence to deadlines
    • Operating in the best practices of our core workflow systems
      (eg. Asana, Slack, Google Workspace, Harvest etc.)
    • To assist junior team members to prioritize and assess work
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
    • An online portfolio of previous work
    • 3+ years working in digital marketing

The estimated salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000.

Based on experience, alternative titles for this position may be available including Junior Designer, Designer, Senior Designer, or Art Director.
