The Position
Do you have a passion to help resource Kingdom work? Are you both driven and highly relational? If so, the Advancement team at Bethel Church of Redding is looking for a Development Officer like you! As a member of this team, you will be dedicated to supporting the national and international fundraising efforts of Bethel Church of Redding by providing relational oversight of mid level donors and prospective donors in an assigned portfolio. This position is a key member of the Bethel team. You will provide sound stewardship and direction to donors as you guide them to support the mission and vision of Bethel and the Arise & Build Capital Campaign.
The Purpose
To support the fundraising efforts of Bethel Church of Redding's Arise & Build Capital Campaign by providing oversight of donors in an assigned mid level gift portfolio, while developing and cultivating relationships and soliciting funds to advance the mission.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Understand, embrace, and integrate Bethel Church of Redding's culture and underlying theology of fundraising into your approach to donor relations.
- Provide sound stewardship and direction to an active portfolio of donors in the $1K-$15K annual gift range, as you guide them to support the mission and vision of the ministry to complete this capital project.
- Participate collaboratively in the development of programs and campaigns to move donors in your assigned portfolio through the lifecycle of philanthropy with an emphasis on ongoing and deepening relationship.
- Leverage various communication channels to creatively connect with your assigned portfolio. Connections include but are not limited to prayer and ministry, project updates, opportunities to partner, expressions of gratitude.
- Oversee and implement the necessary daily data entry into the ministry CRM for proper donor management tracking.
- Align daily job duties and practices to adhere to and achieve annual goals and objectives outlined by the Development and Information Manager.
- Work with the Development and Information Manager to ensure the requests of Bethel donors are handled in an efficient manner.
- Work with Planned Giving staff to facilitate generosity from donor-advised funds, stocks, estate plans, and non-cash assets.
- Represent Bethel and Arise & Build privately and publicly at events.
- Be willing to travel 1-4 times a year regionally to meet with donors in person, as well as take 1-2 work trips a year for events and team meetings at Bethel Church in Redding.
- Contribute to the team effort by working collaboratively and accepting other duties as assigned.
Location
Redding, CA preferred. Remote work available; Central or East Coast preferred for remote. Must live in the USA within 1 hour of a major airport.

- Is a born again believer of Jesus Christ and maintains faithful fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:25); maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Bethel; exhibits integrity in professional and personal life; adheres to Bethel’s Code of Honor and Core Values; upholds Bethel’s ministry in prayer.
- College graduate.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels through phone calls, emails, text messages, social media, and other channels as necessary.
- Strong communication skills—both verbal and written.
- 1-3 years of fundraising experience (preferred), or revenue generating experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
- Experience with implementing new ideas and strategies.

Salary Range:
$22-28 Hourly, with some variability for geographical location
