Full Job Description

Full-time, remote opportunity for a newly graduated individual based in the U.S. (Eastern Time Zone preferred). Must be U.S. work eligible without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Paid Internship for recent grad (class of 2023) or student graduating in May, 2024 who is interested in, and with experience in, fundraising/development, database management, marketing, graphics, non-profit management, CSR, and/or youth health & wellness. Starts as early as mid-to-end of March with a 3-month evaluation and potential for a one-year commitment. Remote position (New York Tri-state area preferred) Eastern time zone. Students should be eligible to U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

National youth health and wellness nonprofit GENYOUth’s mission is to ensure children are well-nourished and physically active to be their best selves.  Founded by America’s Dairy Farmers and the NFL, we have an established program footprint in 73,000 U.S. schools, reaching 38 million students. Our three Pillars of Purpose are: Nutrition Security, Physical Activity and Youth Engagement & Leadership.

To help ensure that the 1 in 5 students living in food insecurity continue to receive the nutritious school meals they need, GENYOUth has created the End Student Hunger Fund. Schools can apply for grants to purchase equipment and resources urgently needed to get healthy meals distributed and delivered. To raise money, we’ve also created national high profile charitable campaigns and programming (healthy eating and physical activity) that engages corporations, foundations, athletes, influencers, and individuals to raise their hands with compassion and purpose.

Internship Program Overview/Duties

The internship program is intended for those looking to gain a working knowledge of the nonprofit industry. Interns will gain firsthand fundraising, business development and marketing experience while collaborating with people who have years of industry knowledge and skill and will make connections that can help in their future career endeavors.

Below is a sampling of tasks:

  1. Implement various tasks as assigned to assist the development department in its efforts to support the fundraising priorities of GENYOUth
  2. Work with team on the development of sales and marketing materials for funder outreach and communication
  3. Create and/or gather materials for partner/sponsor meetings and presentations
  4. Conduct research for special projects, potential event sponsors and support prospecting activities for GENYOUth’s mission, Taste of the NFL, Super School Meals, NFL FLAG in-schools and End Student Hunger
  5. Assist with CRM system updates for sales, e-mail blasts via Salsa
  6. Asist with weekly Development Calls – agendas and taking notes
  7. Assist with revenue generation ideas
  8. Observe live sales call(s) being conducted with the Director of Marketing & Development and our partner base
  9. Work directly with GENYOUth’s Director of Marketing & Development, as well as with our CEO, TNFL Business Consultant and Chief Marketing Officer
  10. Handle updating of sales materials in a timely manner as changes arise

Requirements

Preferred Skills: Strong organizational, research and reporting skills; ability to story tell and create sell sheets/ proposals/program recaps for different audiences; strong networking and relationship-building skills; graphic capabilities such as Canva and Power Point; willing to listen, learn and contribute. Confidence to present/share new ideas and points-of-view to GENYOUth management and team members during weekly staff meetings.

Details:

  1. Paid Internship ($18.00/hour) from mid-to-end of March for three months; after three months, regular evaluations with the potential for a total of 12-month assignment
  2. Work hours (35 hours/week), Monday – Friday. Location flexible due to remote work scenario yet must align work schedule with eastern or central time zones to mesh closely with GENYOUth team.
  3. Potentially attend key GENYOUth events/meetings. Travel expenses for these meetings/events will be reimbursed.
  4. College graduate with experience in Canva, PowerPoint, and Microsoft suite a plus. Intern will be trained on Zoominfo, Instrumentl, and Salsa Engage.
  5. Reports directly to the Director of Marketing & Development
  6. Must have dependable hi-speed internet
  7. Transportation and housing not provided
  8. No medical/dental benefits or paid time off
