Full Job Description
Stream Data Centers is looking for a highly organized and results-driven leader to guide Design on Steam Data Centers (SDC) projects. The primary function of this role is ensuring design deliverables are provided for a project while meeting construction and leasing delivery dates.
The Design Manager is expected to collaborate with the sales, procurement, construction, and operations teams to develop the project specific requirements and drive the design process to meet those requirements. The role is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of design documentation to the construction team to ensure a successful project delivery along with design support throughout the construction of the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the design teams and project deliverables for all projects within a region/campus.
- Ensure projects adhere to the Design and Construction Standards (DACS) along all supplemental tenant criteria.
- Review design team contracts for scope of services and deliverables compliance.
- Participate in weekly design meetings with consultants and Stream team members.
- Engage with internal subject matter experts to provide technical direction to the design team.
- Actively engage with procurement team members to define project equipment needs and ensure OFCI order accuracy.
- Collaborate with the technical sales group to define customer specific project requirements.
- Organize and manage design document reviews with Stream SMEs and construction team members at project milestones for comment and review.
- Collaborate with the project specific third-party project managers for design direction.
- Visit jobsites periodically during construction to monitor design implementation in the field.
- Attend and participate in OAC meetings during construction.
- Monitor shop drawing and RFI logs and ensure design team responsiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in a design project management role with 2+ years preferably working within the Mission Critical space.
- Strong working knowledge of architectural, civil, structural and MEP/FP design constraints.
- Knowledge of applicable building regulations, standards, best practices, and applicable codes.
- Ability to read and understand project drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Experience in developing, managing, and understanding design schedules and design workflow.
- Ability to travel to jobsite locations.
- Experience leading and mentoring others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and SharePoint experience.
The pay range for this role is between $150,000 - $200,000 (base). Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons.
