Full Job Description
Momentum Design Lab helps fast-paced technology startups, emerging software companies, and big tech to solve high-impact business challenges through digital experience design. Our engagements span user/customer research, product strategy, design, and software development. We are customer experience obsessed, blending both digital product and service design to create innovative and transformative experiences for organizations and customers. Our approaches are versatile, so each project may be unique in workflow and deliverables; we adapt from innovation sprints to extensive design thinking exercises to meet the customer's ever-changing needs.
As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring our projects' delivery on time and on budget using Agile methodology. You will work closely with clients throughout the entire lifecycle of products, gaining exposure to different industries and businesses. Your responsibilities will include planning customer engagements, defining project scope and business requirements, managing project deliverables, and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will also manage multiple concurrent projects, conduct daily SCRUMs, and resolve project roadblocks. Your contributions will play a key role in the success of our clients' products. To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent attention to detail and be able to see the big picture.
We are looking for contractors and may transform the position into a full-time role in the future. The person must be in the United States and allowed to work or contract in the US.
Requirements
While technical skills are not required for this role, we seek candidates with a strong interest in and understanding of emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, augmented/virtual reality, and more. The delivery lead will work cross-functionally, so a working knowledge of these technologies and how they may impact various parts of the business will allow them to better coordinate teams, set project scopes and objectives, and drive results. We want our delivery leads to stay on top of tech trends and think creatively about how we can leverage innovations to better serve clients and enhance our offerings over time. An innate curiosity about technology and demonstrated interest (through reading, coursework, hobbies, etc.) is important, even if hands-on skills are not a prerequisite. The ideal candidate will embrace new ideas, evolve along with the technical landscape, and not be intimidated by working with team members and vendors at the forefront of tech breakthroughs.
While the core responsibilities of this delivery lead role center on spearheading client projects, we are looking for well-rounded candidates who bring experience or high potential in areas such as business development, sales processes, strategic planning, financial performance, team management, resource management, client relationships and marketing initiatives. Proficiency across many parts of the business is valuable for our delivery leads to understand how their work integrates with and impacts broader organizational goals and initiatives. Candidates who have worn multiple hats, dealt frequently with cross-functional teams, budgets and planning, and relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders are desired. Expertise across several competencies will allow our delivery leads to not just coordinate excellent client engagements but also identify new opportunities, ramp up sales processes, think critically about resourcing, develop their team members, forge lasting client relationships, and support marketing and business development efforts. While we don’t anticipate mastery in all of these areas, experience spanning some combination of them is preferred to find delivery leads who can grasp the big picture and see their role as part of an integrated business system.
Required Skills:
- Acting as a liaison between the client and departments within the company to convey information, ensure understanding, and make certain everything gets done in an accurate, timely manner
- Monitoring the client’s budget, explaining costs, and negotiating new terms if necessary

- Construct a high-level plan based on the proposal & SOW.
- Define the project scope and business requirements/user stories with the customer's stakeholders.
- Employ creative thinking and analytical capabilities to build customer experience and user experience solutions for the customer.
- Manage complex engagements from kickoff to final delivery (e.g., resourcing, internal/client kick-off, status calls & meetings, deliverables, backlog, reports, reviews/iteration sessions, co-creation workshops, delivery meetings, etc.)
- Being a rapid thinker on your feet, with empathy and understanding of clients and business needs.
- Identify the sprint goals, user stories, and tasks with product owners at the beginning of each sprint.
- Conduct the daily stand-ups and ensure the timely resolution of discrepancies and project roadblocks.
- Must be able to travel to customer or other work-related locations from time to time (less than 20%).
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience managing projects and strong knowledge of the key components of Agile project management (e.g., scope, time, cost, quality, resources, communication, risk, etc.) and associated tools, best practices, and methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer management skills and the ability to work with customers to develop and manage project plans.
- Proven organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of software design/development processes and technologies, particularly agile methodologies and tools like Pivotal, Jira, etc.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A sense of humor and tenacity.

Preferred:
- 4 + years experience managing projects and strong knowledge of the key components of Agile projects OR 3+ years of product management.
