Data Engineer

Requirements

• Designing, building, and maintaining the data architecture needed to support business decisions and data-driven applications. This includes collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing large amounts of data using AWS tools and services.

• Developing and maintaining a data pipeline design.

• Designing and implementing automated tools for collecting and transferring data from multiple source systems to the AWS cloud platform.
• Researching new technologies and data sources that can be used in projects. Work with product owners to conduct exploratory research and implement new technologies.
• Designing and developing a security framework to provide fine grained access to objects in AWS S3.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams in trouble shooting functional and performance issues.
• Finding patterns or insights in data that may be utilized to inform business choices or build strategies.
• Work with DevOps Engineers to integrate any new code into existing CI/CD pipelines
• Needs to be a team player to be able to work in an agile environment

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• This position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, and 5+ years of relevant employment experience
• 5+ years of work experience with ETL, Data Modeling, Data Analysis, and Data Architecture.
• AWS Glue, Lambdas , AWS Data Migration Service
• MySQL  , MSSQL Database ,Postgres
• Expert-level skills in writing and optimizing SQL.
• Experience operating very large data warehouses or data lakes.
• Experience with building data pipelines and applications to stream and process datasets at low latencies.
• Python , C#
• Terraform/Cloud Formation
• Machine Learning (Nice to Have)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sitting for prolonged periods of time in a temperature-controlled office / home environment for approximately 8 hours per day.
• Frequent and repetitive use of fingers, hands, and arms for tasks such as typing, writing, moving a mouse, etc.
• Occasionally lifts office equipment, supplies, or other items of approximately 20lbs.
• Ability to travel by air, vehicle, or other means approximately 5%  of the time.
• To accommodate travel needs, must be able to transport suitcase and laptop estimated at 40lbs.
• To accommodate travel needs, must be able to operate rental or personal motor vehicle.
